Watched the replay from the Sunday racing at Angers … quite a few nasty falls and have been trying to find out if the horses were OK or not … no reply from Racing UK which is annoying when they have contact with someone on the course who would certainly know about the water jump incident as it’s right by the finishing post …
I think these were their names:
<b>Madra Ocean</b> – a horrible fall at the water jump – screens were up and I would fear the worst sadly for him.
<b>Quaker Mome</b> – grey in the same race – nasty fall at the bullfinch.
<b>Larizia</b> – crashed 2 out and was seen still flat out in the background as the race finished – hopefully just winded?
I’ve tried French racing site but it only lists the horses who finished. Any ideas?Spoken to a French friend of mine who has the following news:
Madra Ocean – unfortunately he died at the water jump.
Quaker Mome – He was OK, and could even run in a similar chase at Nantes next week.
Larizia – She’s OK, but looked to have a slight cut of one of her front legs.
One horse you may have seen at Angers was Saga Mome, who won the big handicap despite giving lumps of weight away all round, and apparently, she could be on her way to England very soon!
