Getting into back to lay myself next year is there anything you have to be careful about? This year I have had horses go from 12/1 to as little as 3/1 laying at 3/1 for your stake does this mean you are free rolling a 9/1 bet?
I operate two backtolay methods.
1. Getting what I can on the early prices like yesterday, when I KNOW the odds are going to get cut. This is g’teed money but limited because even with the aid of commission agents the offices don’t like getting caught out. Its a useful source of income but you couldn’t live off it.
2. Backing just before the off and laying back at various odds to ensure a profit when I THINK the odds will contract to a predetermined level in running.Its like anything else you need to do your homework ,knowing what drives the market before and during the race is obviously the key.
This morning the one I am monitoring on the exchange is Bocamix 1.50 Newc – but getting mixed messages so far. The plan with this one will be to get the time the money comes for it correct. Not much scope but there will be a small profit .
Flurry of activity and just a small profit secured after it got clipped in – still as I said g’teed.
1.055 chelt king massini 7/1 is the obvious one today but its already tight on the exchange so will pass today
3.15 donc NIGHT IN MILAN 14/1 should easily be able to dump this at 11/1 maybe shorter , don’t forget its g;teed PROFIT
Hard to shift the price in races like Chelt 2.25 but take the 16/1 about SEW ON TARGET for more G’TEED PROFIT
Only small money for NIGHT IN MILAN but out for a small PROFIT.
So as you can see if making easy money before a single race has been ran then this approach is the way to go.

Careful its not easy to shift the price on a competitive Saturday feature – remember this is a trade not a tip.
2.05 Haydock Balinroab 25/1 (currently 30.0 for pennies betfair). There will be money for this at some point (source says after offices ease odds?) but don’t be greedy could easily rebound by offtime.
