ruk and atr are free with the virginmedia tv pack that the ntl family pack migrated to – xl i think its called
i used to pay 20 or 25/mth for ruk, then 15, then it was free. atr has always been free with my tv package
i really cant knock the value, 40 quid pays for my broadband (unlimited downloads) which has to be worth 15 a month, telephone line with free weekend national calls – whats that worth ? and the tv and digital radio pack which is about 150 channels including setanta pack, ruk, atr
40 per month in one convenient bill is the price of a cup of tea per day or the price of the racing post each day – which you dont have to buy if you have broadband
when i consider it used to be over 70 quid per month when ruk charged seperately its now top value i think
keep cutting each others throats sky and virgin, it works for me
February 27, 2008 at 15:29 #146860from their FAQ page re payments – http://www.setanta.com/en/UK/How-to-sub … iew-FAQ/#5
it says first payment by visa/master/maestro then card or d/d afterwards
this suggests to me you could pay for the crad by maestro and set up a d/d
i dont if they do single payment in advance for set period but im looking at buying this for someone so will be checking

I just noticed your earlier post about Freeview so I’m stepping in here as I don’t want you to go wrong as I did.
Up to 6 months ago you couldn’t get RUK with Freeview and I don’t think it’s changed in the meantime, so before you subscribe via that service, make sure you are aware of what channels you are getting. It was mostly football, as it was all on one channel only, not the 6 or so you get on the digital platform, so be aware of that before you commit yourself, if it hasn’t changed since.February 27, 2008 at 16:02 #146865You cant get RUk on freeview only Setanta 1
February 27, 2008 at 16:19 #146867Anyone that is still paying £15 per month for RUK should ring customer services asap. I kept putting it off because of the talk about how bad their customer service was but I got it sorted inside 2 minutes.
February 27, 2008 at 16:33 #146869i did not know you could not get RUK for freeview, but this does not matter for the person i will be getting it for
good point tho
February 27, 2008 at 17:20 #146874I would suggest Virgin for £25 you get all the Setanta pack must have xl package. (except Arsenal tv there is a dispute at the moment). and the on demand is great.

The Cheltenham Festival will only be showed on Racing UK (all races) and Channel 4 (first 4 races each day). Cheltenham is not one of the courses tied to ATR hence why it will not be shown on their channel.
February 28, 2008 at 06:13 #147045ATR have just done a great interview with Clive Smith – please pass on my congrats Boycie.
Mike
I’d like to echo that. It was a really interesting interview and what a nice man Clive Smith seemed to be.
February 28, 2008 at 11:48 #147093ATR normally have live commentary from Cheltenham though, marb.
February 28, 2008 at 17:46 #147183Are both ATR and Racing Uk showing the festival this year?
Cheltenham is one of 14 racecourses owned by the same group who run RUK so Cheltenham along with Newmarket Aintree Kempton amongst others will never appear on ATR.
In this respect RUK have ATR over a barrell when it comes to big meetings like Cheltenham festival and Grand National etc
