Good
Straight course: Stands’ side 9.4, Centre 9.3, Far Side 9.6
Round Course: 9.4
There is a drying wind.
Chris Stickels is suggesting going could be Good, Good to Firm in places, possibly even before racing begins.
June 16, 2010 at 09:50 #301054Yes, looks like it will be starting Good/Good to firm. Anyone wanting even the minimum amount of give in the ground is going to be disappointed!
June 16, 2010 at 11:31 #301091Which way is the drying wind Paul?
Is it a tail wind?
Makes a difference, because prominent runners have an advantage in a tailwind, the opposite in a headwind. Thanks
Value Is EverythingJune 16, 2010 at 11:34 #301094It is brisk and more or less from behind in the straight.
If you face down the home straight and imagine you are in the middle of a clock face looking towards 12:00 the wind is from just before 25 past.
Not scientific but I don’t have a compass with me
June 16, 2010 at 11:39 #301096Perfect explanation Paul, who needs a compass eh?!

Cheers
Value Is EverythingJune 16, 2010 at 12:00 #301098Based on yesterdays racing the times suggest the going is "good to firm" – with no rain overnight I’d expect it to ride on the fast side of that
June 16, 2010 at 12:27 #301104Going now officially
Good to Firm, Good in Places
