Have gone close here on occasions and my top figures for this one are:

    117 Bring On The Night
    113 Ahorsewithnoname
    109 East Asia

    106 Calling The Wind
    106 Weston
    106 Pleasant Man

The top two are trained by leading jumps trainers, lightly raced and presumably aimed specifically at this. Top rated went close here last year, second rated ran creditably in the Cesarewitch.

To make up the three against the field, East Asia is a type I just feel might go close at a fancy price (100/1 e/w 6 places 1/5 odds with a least two layers). Ian Williams has popped in winners from unlikely contenders in the past and this is worth a small punt. Hasn’t gone past 2 miles, but I’ll trust the trainer here.

I know Bring On The Night kinda bumped into one in the shape of Coltrane last year, but he’s up 3lb for that and looks plenty short enough to me at around 2/1.

I like Zinc White here, should hit a place. Bit of a wide draw (car park), stamina not an issue, come back run at Chester was good.
Ridden for luck might even win.
Only two concerns, Draw and Bounce factor.

Placed in two Queen Alexandras, a Cesarewitch, a November Handicap, and one-time winner of the Goodwood Handicap, Calling The Wind is an incredibly likeable horse and Billy Loughnane takes 3lb off his back.

I still think Animal Rising would have a field day if they knew Mike was hurling sharp objects at racehorses, but I could see this one running a big race.

Tritonic could never be called the most reliable, and ran a couple of strange races over hurdles last season, but I give him a chance of making the frame here around 25’s

Not a race I have much hope in but the lucky pin landed on Calling the Wind
Ascot form, mainly the Royal meeting is pretty neat
and I’d love to see the trainer bag a winner here

I’ve had a little each way interest on The Grand Visir . Been round in these types races for years , liked his
Chester Cup run , drops a few pounds and reasonably fresh after light year or so , might sweeten the old fella up .
One of the last of Frankel’s first crop still going round .

A staying handicap with 6 places available so of course I’ve lost the run of myself as usual and backed aalll the outsiders

Irish Lullaby- had excuses last time, yard going ok
Weston- Elliott’s only runner at Ascot this week I think. Good stout German breeding
Achnamara- I like trainer+jockey, wind op may help
The Grand Visir- loves it here
