Tower of London @ 33’s
Well and truly fallen for this horse somehow. Time will tell but that Leger might turn out to be a very good running and he looks likely to appreciate further already given the way he was finishing.
A bit of an underwhelming division this year and anything could enter the picture between now and then given how it looks at the moment.

September 24, 2023 at 10:24 #1664248I have liked Tower of London ever since he bolted up in the Ulster Derby. I certainly could not resist the 33s – thanks to Botchy for highlighting it.
September 24, 2023 at 14:35 #1664287Tower of London still in Melbourne Cup , some of the three year olds that run well there don’t come back well , Rekindling done little after , Tiger Moth ran last only race after and sold for couple grand later I think , Il Paradiso had two more races last in both . Deauville Legend hasn’t won race since he ran in it last year . There’s a few others just vanished after a tough run in Cup .

September 24, 2023 at 22:08 #1664383Alessandro Volta another Coolmore 3 year old went into Melb Cup with decent form in Derby trials ,Epsom and Irish Derby decent efforts . Went out hard at Flemington if I recall correctly , had a tough race . 9 races after finished in last 3 8 of them , last in majority of them . Some of those very average races . Dropped many many kilos off his best form after Melb Cup run .
September 24, 2023 at 22:16 #1664385Mahler , 3rd in MC as 3 year old , never raced again .
More I think about it the more pop up .
May 17, 2024 at 16:12 #1694612Gregory 10-1 ew. Might have a say if Kyprios not as good as he was.
May 17, 2024 at 16:56 #1694618Never be sentimental with bets, but I’ve had a small e/w on Trueshan. He’s obviously not the horse he was, but he’s far too big a price at 33s if the ground comes up soft, which is possible given the weather forecast for the next month.
May 18, 2024 at 11:45 #1694719If it comes up soft kyprios looks very hard to beat. Don’t think he likes it good or good to firm. Love horses like trueshan and would love to see hom run a big race.
May 19, 2024 at 19:09 #1694972The staying division isn’t great, but Kyprios is priced as if he is the horse of 2 years ago so for me on that basis alone he must be opposed.
I thought about Trawlerman and Caius Chorister, and came down in favour of the latter at the bigger price. The trip would be a question mark for both. The Sagaro would be a fair reflection of the best on offer, and I thought Caius Chorister was a little unlucky not to win. She finished pretty well given he didn’t settle off a slow pace. It looks as if she is improving, seemingly handles all ground, and I thought the stamina was worth chancing at 20/1+.
May 20, 2024 at 12:24 #1695005Caius Chorister going for the Henry II. Not sure that running in two mini Ascot Gold Cup is more beneficial than going there a frsh horse. Ascot was tough enough, and likely Sandown the same.
May 29, 2024 at 10:43 #1695930Any news on Coltrane? Looks the decent each way chance at 16’s but I’ve heard nothing about his wellbeing
