Wasn’t blown away by Dashel Drasher at Lingfield, for all he should have won, but he’s still main fancy here. 7’s not really that appealing as an Antepost price, but I’d be disappointed if he didn’t run here, and in a race that can cut up, I thought I’d chance that he definitely goes, as if it does cut up, he shouldn’t be bigger than 7’s

The interesting one here is Clan Des Obeaux. Due to run in The Denman Chase on Saturday, but Nicholls is concerned with the form of his horses, and he also has Bravemansgame in that race. He has to get another run into Bravemansgame, while with Clan Des Obeaux not going to Cheltenham, perhaps he might be tempted to wait with him another week.

Unlikely, but happy to have a bet at 22’s anyway.

    Dashel Drasher 7’s
    Clan Des Obeaux 22’s

Im going to this. My first ever visit to Ascot.

You’ve beat the market anyway getting 22 for CDO so well done on that score anyway.

Lostintranslation and First Flow look the two interesting ones to me. Neither seem to be entered up anywhere else and the Tizzard horse won really well there before xmas. First flow loves the track, jumps lovely and beaten out of sight having made the running in the Clarence House is better than the black and white form in my opinion.

It would just be nice to know how many of the horses quoted at prices just now are unlikely to run. Hitman and CDO are both down to run at Newbury this Saturday

Fiddlerontheroof entry puzzled me a bit. I had thought he would run in the Cotswold or the Denman.

I think hes going straight to the gold cup

They don’t want his mark to go up before the national weights come out

Sounds like mister fisher and fakir doudaries are likely runners

I like them both just need to decide how to play it

I like Two For Gold here. He’s 20-1 at this time, and I’ve taken that ew.

Did you not consider going 9/2 with 3 places with betfred mike?

Instead of the 5s 2 places with 365

Think if I was going each way I’d go for the extra place and half point shorter

It was 3 places that I had obtained. 2 places I would’ve left it most probably.

Eldorado allen win at the he weekend may well mean he heads to the GC rather than the Ryanair , were they really surprised by his win , I backed him but i didnt think he,d win so easily , tizzard may well have a nice hand for the GC , still really like fiddler for it

Good lineup, plenty of chances. Not one to go too big on. I don’t know how many more times I can let Lostintranslation burn me, but there is definitely something still there, as evidenced by his Amlin win. This is a bit tougher, but I’d be interested to see how he goes. Not many horses come here to prep for the Grand National, yet here we have two of them

Fanion D’estruval will likely be my main bet.

Always have a soft spot for Mister Fisher. Disappointing in the King George, but won quite easily in the Silviniaco Conti Chase. That form has been franked by Eldorado Allen. A bit worried about the ground, but not really a tempting alternative for me here. I think Fakir is too short now.

    Misher Fisher 11/2

Cannot see beyond Fakir D’Oudairies. Even at this morning’s prices he is still a good bet based on his Melling performance.

All over Lostintranslation e.w , I don’t believe he likes Kempton so the KG run in my eyes can be forgotten , at shorter today maybe Saint Cavados day , no doubt he deserves one and it sounds like Nicholls as he cherry ripe

    E.w Lostintranslation

    Win Saint Calvados

    Rev f/c

I haven’t been convinced by Fakir’s jumping this season so will join Peter on Fanion d’Estruval.
