Put up Mister Policeman at 16s in my thread a few weeks ago

Willie gave him a good write up in his sporting life stable tour

And just watched the big jump off video on YouTube and Joe Chambers really likes him

Horse has bags of ability be interesting to see how he gets on over fences

The money has slowly come for him and best price 10s now which doesn’t look like lasting long

He is far too short to be considering a bet

Have to admit that form isn’t half bad first time up 380days after his last Fr run.

But jesus wept, there’s 10s in like 3 places now. I’d maybe throw him in a double or something, but this far out, once raced on these shores…

50-1 about something like Blood Destiny wouldn’t be the worst, but that’s just me scanning the markets.

Yes single figures is scandalous really

Like most of the markets the top 3 are all a few pts too short

I took 12-1 Mister Policeman, but it always feels a bit wrong at this stage with the Mullins younger ones. I’m essentially guessing, but all part of the game I suppose

Mullins on Facile Vega before chase debut
“With a clear round he should be good enough”

    Hardly glowing

I’d be saying with a clear round he annilalates them

A bit hit and miss for Facile Vega… I thought his jumping was a bit scrappy
He ran on strong at the end and Mullins has had a few hot pots turned over the last couple of days and not firing on all cylinders yet.. Nice to get a run behind him and the opposition had form so maybe not as bad as it looked in places

I’m going to sound like a right Debbie Downer on here tonight but only just caught this, thought from the bookies predictable reactions and the headlines it would have been Sprinter Sacre, in reality it was a weird race with Saint Felicien going off like he needed to be home by 3.20pm, only 3 other triers in behind, 1 of them fell when going okay (Sa Feruer) I thought Facile Vega jumped pretty badly and at times dare I say it out to his right, but probably beat two half decent animals in the process. I don’t think he jumps like a 2 miler on todays showing either.

Inthepocket is more than half decent tinman

Cracking chance in the turner’s if they step him up

You could see townend and Blackmore were very keen not to give their horses tough races on that desperate ground with a long season ahead

Didn’t like the lack of control facile had of his back end. Was cork screwing in a way that reminded me of Bob olinger.

I thought that too. Also, he was a bit tentative to start, slowing into fences- as TTM says, not like a two miler who you expect to attack fences and get across quickly . Mind you, I think that stable don’t do a huge pile of schooling and let them learn on the job.
This is what Townend said about El Fabiolo after his first run over fences:
“Any time I asked him he was good but anytime I went to let him in he was just a bit unsure of it but in a good race you don’t get in too often!” So I think they purposely sit quietly and put the youngsters a bit close to fences to teach them to think for theselves in an emergency, and also to avoid lighting them up as might happen if they set them perfect or a bit long at every fence.

Mike there in the previous post letting us know what he thought of Facile Vega without mentioning Facile Vega. 😆

Marine Nationale waiting till Christmas- it’ll be amusing if Willie chooses that race to start Mister Policeman.

I’m not sure Inthepocket is more than half-decent at 2M, might be when he steps up in trip. Depends on your perception of half-decent, I’m looking at the genuine G1 winners as being decent, exceptional ones like Constiution Hill as being exceptional and the scale kind of goes down from there. The Aintree G1 he won was very ordinary and he was firmly put in his place in the other two 2M Novice G1’s he ran in. We already knew Facile Vega was a bit better than him at 2M over hurdles and that was merely confirmed over fences yesterday, pretty much to the same distance as the gap in the Supreme actually. I did watch it back again trying to be less critical this morning and it wasn’t as bad as I remembered it, perhaps because I watched it after seeing some of the hyperbole on social media by accident, but there was still plenty of bad for an Arkle favourite at this stage. I still can’t shake how easily Marine Nationale beat him in March to be honest and if MN can jump fences its hard to see that being reversed but long way to go yet and to be fair last years arkle winners chase debut wasn’t without fault but he did at least attack his fences and look like a 2 miler, didn’t get that feeling from Facile Vega much yesterday.

I don’t like that marine nationale is waiting for Xmas and better ground to start

What will the trainer do if the ground isn’t better at Christmas?

He will be going into the DRF against facile vega, inthepocket and Mister Policeman (maybe, he keeps getting grade 1 hurdles entries) only having had 1 run

What I would say is Facile had a bad prep for the Supreme and completely emptied coming up the hill something he’d not done in his races before. So the gap between him and marine nationale may not be as wide as it looked that day.

Also possibly Found a Fifty, Blood Destiny, Il Etait Temps and Hunters Yarn.
