Tarnawa is the one to beat in the Arc after today IMO.

September 12, 2021 at 15:11 #1560259I added Tarnawa 5-1 ew so have a decision to make. Which one of Adayar 5s and Snowfall 10s to potentially get rid of. One got injured and missed his prep and one got beat in the trial.
September 12, 2021 at 15:26 #1560261Dettori said: “I thought I was too far back, I think Hollie [Doyle, La Joconde] didn’t go fast enough for me. It turned into a bit of a sprint.”
When asked if she felt the same as on Oaks day, he simply replied “obviously not”.
September 12, 2021 at 15:33 #1560262Just finished playing golf and haven’t seen the race
Absolutely shocked she’s not won
Hopefully its on YouTube soon
Long season taken its toll we think?

Impossible to know.
September 12, 2021 at 15:37 #1560264Has to be a chance they don’t go to the arc with her now, give her a longer break and run in the fillies and mares at ascot
They have to be very tempted to run SMB now
Him being a colt they’d rather he wins for stud fees anyway
September 12, 2021 at 15:43 #1560266She’ll go to the Arc still i think once Frankie tells AOB it went tactically a bit wrong today.
September 12, 2021 at 15:59 #1560267Snowfall still wins the Arc
Ryan Moore stayed at home because Snowfall was having a training in public excise. Frankie could have pushed harder and closed the gap earlier but the plan would have been to win as easy as possible. I’d say Snowfall has plenty more in the tank. The Arc itself will be ran hard from the start, you’d expect so anyway which will play to Snowfalls strengths. Frankie gave them 6 lengths in a race that was near enough made into a sprint.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
September 12, 2021 at 16:24 #1560278I agree nath, she was sent out there for a jaunt, frankie nearly went for her but then left her alone
Although i will say, theyd have expected her to win that in a cantwr so theyll be somewhat disappointed, it wouldnt put me off atall for the arc if i was a backer
September 12, 2021 at 16:28 #1560280She will need plenty more in the tank against tarnawa, adayar and hurricane lane
Teona is a group 3 horse
She gets big enough il add her as a “just incase” saver
I’m always willing to forget one bad run and she’s more accurately priced
September 12, 2021 at 16:30 #1560282Sorry can’t have they took her there for a day out or public exercise , she could still win an arc but she disappointed today , O’Brien has had a bang average year , Jesus look what happened with Bolshoi ballet , a top team like that shouldn’t be making those mistakes

September 12, 2021 at 17:11 #1560290Blaming Hollie for not going fast enough and saying it turned into a sprint are weak excuses, she wouldn’t have won today whatever way the race was run – if he was that concerned with the pace of the race he had ample chance to get a little closer before the race hotted up.
They thought it was a penalty kick with no keeper, she travelled well until he asked her to pick up off the turn and there wasn’t much of a response and she just plugged on to nick 2nd place. You would have to mark it up as a poor run for sure but just like all of her form this season it doesn’t scream Arc favourite or winner to me – happy to be proven wrong but even if returning to her best (visual) form it leaves her a lot to find on the more proven horses.
I would persnally be more concerned with the stable form – just 1 winner from 36 runners in the last 14 days is worrying.
September 12, 2021 at 17:25 #1560293The Vermeille time was less than 0.2 seconds slower than the Foy and nearly three seconds faster than the Neil.
None of the three races was exactly run at a tremendous early pace, but I wouldn’t be making too many excuses for Snowfall.
I stand by what I said about Tarnawa being the one to beat and, with The Derby winner having met with an interrupted preparation, I would regard stablemate Hurricane Lane as the bigger danger if he ran.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"September 12, 2021 at 18:09 #1560304I was initially concerned about an interupted prep for Adayar but having thought about it by all accounts he missed just a couple of pieces of work (who knows whether it was important gallops or just easy work) and whilst serious enough to mean he missed his intended run I can’t think that with it being over 4 weeks out from the Arc it will mean the difference between winning and losing.
Had he run today he would have had an easy week or so before being brought back up to the boil for the race so unless the injury was more serious than they let on that wouldn’t for me be enough of a reason to think his chance has diminished.
Would have been nice to get a run into him before the Arc but he did go straight from the Derby to the King George with no issue so it might work in his favour and he is likely to be the freshest horse going into the race.
September 12, 2021 at 18:14 #1560305Typical graceless behaviour from Dettori in defeat, ludicrously blaming Hollie Doyle for a comprehensive reversal.
BUY THE SUN
September 12, 2021 at 19:48 #1560315Agree.
So Frankie Dettori doesn’t think Hollie Doyle went fast enough on the “pacemaker” La Joconde in the Prix Vermeille.
Well, maybe Doyle was simply riding her mount, who finished third, on her merits to try to OBTAIN THE BEST POSSIBLE PLACING.
You know, as per THE RULES OF RACING.
