I’ll take this over for one season, and see how it goes. I wasn’t even intending to take part in it this season, and now I’m running it, so I’ll get involved too. There’s usually not too many of us do it, so hopefully straightforward enough.
Please read the rules. As discussed on the thread for Pats vacant competitions, I’ve taken note of the criticisms. There’s a couple of tweaks which I thought were necessary, including how the scoring is recorded. One of the most contentious points which was flagged up, was the continual practice of very late entries, sometimes two minutes before cutoff. To counter this, I’ll freeze the competition with a few hours to cutoff. I think this is the fairest way to deal with it.
Scores will be updated weekly. Your points will be taken off your total immediately, rather than waiting for the race to happen. You will be able to check your scores on page one, so you can check for how I came to your score, allowing for any errors to be highlighted.
1. Competition runs from now until the end of Royal Ascot 2021, and you must put up at least thirty selections throughout the season. If you start, and then decide not to keep going before your thirty selections are made, just let me know. I won’t take offence, and I’d much rather you told me.
2. This is an Antepost Competition. All selections must be made before final declarations are made.
3. Bets can be win or each way. Each way will be quarter the odds regardless of what’s on offer. Just put win or each way, there is no need to put 2pt win or 1pt ew.
4. NRNB will apply for this competition, and I’ll watch for those balloted out.
