Pensive in 1944 by the Great Hyperion and bred & owned by the World famous Calumet Farm
Pensive was retired to stud, producing the winner of the 1949 Kentucky Derby, Ponder. He died in 1949, just after his son won the Derby. Pensive is buried at Calumet Farm. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pensive)Best Wishes

SilkOctober 12, 2016 at 10:31 #1266775Which Gold Cup winning owner once told A P McCoy “you’ll never ride for me again”
October 12, 2016 at 21:37 #1266835Jonjo O’Neill told the hordes of waiting media-type people, ‘After that effort, he’ll never ride for me again’, following McCoy’s unsuccessful effort on Box Office, the final ride of his professional career.
However, O’Neill never owned a Gold Cup winner, so I’m willing to believe that Jonjo overheard JP McManus tell McCoy, ‘You’ll never ride for me again’, and JP is therefore my answer.
It’s wrong, isn’t it?
October 13, 2016 at 07:15 #1266852It is wrong, sorry
October 13, 2016 at 13:19 #1266866I’ll guess at Harry Findlay, which is also probably wrong
October 13, 2016 at 15:38 #1266879Sorry, that’s wrong too
