May I interject.
Which champion miler died in 1987 having sired the winners of more European Pattern races than any other stallion.
August 17, 2021 at 22:50 #1557165Seasider, what is your definition of Champion miler? The first Cartier Awards took place in 1991….
August 17, 2021 at 23:21 #1557170That’s a fair question.
The colt was the highest rated horse of 1969 (miler or otherwise) with a Timeform rating of 134.
August 17, 2021 at 23:24 #1557171Thanks, that’s a good answer…
August 17, 2021 at 23:53 #1557174The Frankel question:
Doncaster conditions race was Rainbow Springs
Royal Lodge was Klammer
2nd Sussex Stakes & Juddmonte was FarrhAugust 18, 2021 at 00:55 #1557179I had checked after getting 9/14 earlier, and I MAY have remembered Farrh but I doubt it. And I wouldn’t have remembered Klammer or Rainbow Springs in a hundred years.

August 18, 2021 at 02:42 #1557182I’m taking a wild guess at your question, Seasider.
Was it Habitat, by any chance?August 18, 2021 at 05:41 #1557184@LD73- all correct.
I would hand over to you but it appears we have two threads for the price of one.
August 18, 2021 at 06:56 #1557185Habitat is the correct answer, Jimsun.
(Sorry for the interjection. I’ll pay more attention next time.)
August 18, 2021 at 07:01 #1557186“Answer a question, ask another” seems quite self-explanatory to me, to be fair.

Anyway, I don’t have any questions to post so do carry on regardless, @LD73. Cheers!
August 18, 2021 at 12:09 #1557217Ok, being that we are starting York today here is a topical one:
Name the horse that had an unbeaten record at York in winning the Moorestyle Convival Maiden, Musidora & today’s race the Juddmonte (or International as it was known at that time)? Bonus kudos points if you can name the two jockeys that rode her in said races?
August 18, 2021 at 16:37 #1557259In The Groove was the horse. Cauthen definitely rode her but I can’t remember the other jockey off the top of my head.
August 18, 2021 at 16:52 #1557263Ray Cochrane maybe?
August 18, 2021 at 16:57 #1557264You got the main part correct and Cauthen was the main jockey to ride her – a clue to the second jockey is that he was later credited with saving the life of the master of the flying dismount.
Edit: Sorry didn’t see your follow up post but correct again
August 18, 2021 at 17:12 #1557268Name the two horses in the famous Piggott v Shoemaker match at Ascot in 1982.
August 18, 2021 at 18:31 #1557275That’s a cracking question.
I can’t remember and am not even 100% sure who won, though I have this vague recollection of Shoemaker making all and winning by around half a length?
