This race poses a few questions for me, namely-

Hebridean was better than Starluck on the flat, and like starluck looks a gd ground 2 mile specialist, but which is better over hurdles?

I suspect it is still Hebridean and as he is the better price at 10/3 he has to be the one for me.

Can Walkon compete with Starluck and Hebridean on a sharper track on better ground?

My suspicion is no he cant, but we’ll see tomorrow.

Is Ski Sunday still improving over hurdles?

I suspect he is and wouldnt be 1 bit surprised to see him go well tomorrow, espcially if the pace is sedate.

Have we seen the best of First Avenue yet?

My suspicion is no, not until he gets a good fast pace, if he gets that tomorrow I think he could improve massively.

Is Livvy Inn good enough to compete in this grade?

We’ll find out tomorrow, but looks to have everything in his favour if he is.

Detroit City & Katchit won here after winning the Triumph but were sent off at good odds as they were reckoned to be others better suited to the track.
Walkon didnt win the Triumph but much the best form of those present here and I just think he is classier and a better racehorse than the others and will win tomorrow at a very fair price.

True Shabby, but IMO Detroit City never had opposition as good as Starluck and Hebridean at aintree, and was a better horse than Walkon. Katchit on the other hand (and IMO) was the Starluck/Hebridean type the year he came here.

When watching the Triumph like many people I couldn’t help but notice how well Starluck was going 2 out. I immediately thought he would be a good thing today but decided to wtach the race again.

Walk On wasn’t travelling anywhere near as well but suprisingly he had already seen off Starluck just before the last hurdle.

So we can’t say it was the Cheltenham Hill that beat Starluck it may just be he isn’t as good as he looks.

I really like the horse and may regret this but I’m switching and having a shilling or two on Walk On despite the change in venues.

Starluck does seem to be faniced to turn the tables with Walkon in many quarters.

I prefer Hebridean – kept nice and fresh for this and looked tasty at Kempton.

i think, theres not a lot between the leading contenders, but to me, starluck is the one, because the only race, he was not too good, but still brave, was his last. and even then, he ran a race worthy of big respect. so,l think, he can put another 1 to his scoresheet today. for outsider friends, maybe sainglend could be some eachway value…

Rather concerned about Silk Drum; not sure why he wasn’t pulled up sooner..

When Rishi mentioned to choc that Walkon was 14’s next years CH, Choc mumbled that he’d rather have 12’s for the Arkle. I get the feeling he’ll jump a fence too!

That doesn’t surprise me as the Ch could end up more competitive than ever.

The bookies would cut a selling platers price in half if it came out it’s box the right way round.

Not saying Walk On is not a good hurdler but he seems to be able to adapt to differnt conditions and courses with ease. Good turn of foot too and should make a top class chaser.
