Died two weeks ago aged 15 years according to Mick Quinn in the RP today. Sounds like she was much loved.
Angus Newz was a regular at Newmarket on the Rowley Mile and the July Course, she could run and win on any going and was a great servant to her owners and trainer.
Over her 5 years on the track she must have run over 80 times and towards the end of her career I began wishing they would retire her to stud as she was looking so tired of it all and eventually they did although I don’t think she produced a world beater but I bet she was A loving mum.
A lovely genuine mare who would run her heart out for you.
Goodbye Angus Newz, you were a delight to watch and one of my favourite mares to follow at Newmarket. A little mare with true grit..you were loved very much and will be missed.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...
