Evening gents . In your opinion’s what is the best way to understand the statistics. For example vdw i believe from memory said that 75% of nh horses in handicaps do not carry more than 11-5 . This leaves 25% of horses that can go through the boundry of more than 11-5 be it may in different grades. How many times do you think a horse would need to achieve this level of weight to qualify to be in the top 25%, or does the question need to be aproached from a different angleFebruary 28, 2008 at 08:12 #147056arkle,
I’m not sure what you mean.
Top 25% of?

TOP 25% OF THE GRADE IT WINS THE MOST. HOPE THAT MAKES SENSEFebruary 28, 2008 at 19:09 #147203arkle,
I don’t want to hijack Seagull’s thread here discussing this mysterious 25%, so maybe if you started a thread and outlined your query in more detail, there are bound to be a few VDW specialists who can help. At the moment I’m still not clear what it is you are trying to find out.

March 2, 2008 at 20:09 #147922This old boy mate of yours must be a millionaire several times over Seagull, I’m suprised he’s let you in on the secret.
I bet he was napping it a bit last summer, June I think, 46 losing favourites in a row .. ouch
Did you ever hear of an outfit called ‘Cameron Publications’ ?? I think they sold a system called ‘income for life’ .. or some other bollox ?
March 2, 2008 at 22:21 #147956Dave makes a return!!! We were thinking of writing an obituary!
46 losing favorites last summer? If you are right my database ain’t!!!
March 3, 2008 at 05:45 #147965Dave Jay
Can you tell me the day last year that you think there were 46 losing favs in a row?
P.S. It was not in June!
Thanks. If you have bothered to read everything he did say he has lost his bank and winnings on a number of occasions.
What he also said was the bank he has is £2,500 and when that and the winnings are ever lost (That I imagine would be in one day) he thens starts again the next day so there is a stop limit in place and IF there were 46 losing favs in a row he I should imagine he would be out for the count between 10-11 races so if there was a day where the other 36 or so favs also losing would not concern him.
So if for example today he lost the bank and the winnings it is clearly possible that in the next two months he could be around £1,4000 up again. As that is the period of time it has taken to reach that sum in the first two months of this year.
I’m not defending this method in any way but in the first two months it is clear to see it has averaged over £700.00 per month.

March 4, 2008 at 23:07 #148474i have access to some very reliable databases and cant see 46 losing favs in a row. im using criteria of clear fav in uk. the worst run was 43 in 2005, in 2007 the worst was 16.
this year the worst so far has been 17, that happened on 1st march – although there was a winner on the day beforehand.
these were the consecutive losers,

March 5, 2008 at 04:24 #148487ahitchcott,
Thanks for trawling through yoour data base. I know that Dave Jay was incorrect as I checked that month in question myself.Mark has included Irish Racing and I have therefore included it also.
Does your data base include Irish racing?Whether or not this will always be in profit is still open to debate, and the only way to see is to carry on posting the results up every day.
The element of luck will always work both for and against you as we all know. The guy who staked 50p and won a milllion may have been lucky but there would have been other days when he would have been unlucky.
If we take yesterdays results 4th March was this ‘system’unlucky then to have found a winning favourite on the 3rd race of the day @2/7 as if it had carried on until the 9th race one will see that My Freind Fritz won that at 3/1. So the days profits would have been £1,979.00.
The 9th race would have had £1,280.00 on at 3/1.There is enough in the kitty to have had that bet without touching the original bank.If that had lost and the stake and bank was high enough a few races later Lordsbridge won (again at 3/1) so therefore the days profits would have been something like £6,000.00.
In the end it was a losing day!Tues 2 March
