    Correct me if i am wrong, but your friend would have staked £2,555 if starting at £5 then doubling his money 10 then 20 etc at 9/4 with a return of £8,303.75 minus the £360.23 he was loosing gives a grand total of £7943.52.
    why are our figures so different

    IIRC there was a 9th race 9/4 winner last year that saved the old boy’s bacon

    Having a laugh?

    There has never been any mention of stopping after 6 losers in a row.

    I have already explained that what Mark told me he does was to allow himself to lose 2.5k a day (that makes 9 races when the total sum staked is actually 2,555.00). he expects to lose that sum more than once a year but last year he did not so that why his total profit at s.p. prices was 20,610.58.

    You will also see I wrote that once his profits are above that sum he is prepared to carry on as long as he does not exceed the 2.5k and his bank on anyone day.

    Going through his last years figures he could have have had 9 losers on 7 occasions and still returned a profit.

    I dont know who is having a laugh but at the moment he is on a cruise so maybe he is!
