Whether Mark loses his 20K or not (I sincerely hope he doesn’t) many thanks for keeping this thread up to date throughout this year. It has been most interesting following the progress of such a seemingly simple method.I have to admit that I expected it to fail at some point during the last twelve months. You have given us all food for thought.

It would be interesting to read the views of those with a grounding in statistical modelling and probability theory.

If the tests carried out earlier this year by Artemis and others are indeed robust and proven techniques for forecasting when ruin will occur (specifically will be likely to occur) in ‘chance’ sequences/stakes such as this, then surely the logical conclusion can only be that this year’s results are a statistical blip and yer man was indeed "lucky".

I really don’t know myself.

Lucky or not, it’s certainly an easy system to work, if demanding in the sense that it requires you to be in bookies/at PC at a similar time each and every day.

Parsecs better than having a proper job though

If there was a thread of the year this one would definitely be on the shortlist. Well done Seagull on keeping us all up to date with this system.

Mark has had a good year and is very good at keeping to the system and that is the key, for example on Friday the 19th he had a profit of £1.00 if that was me i would keep going and probably blow the kitty in half.

This is just what it is a ‘system’ nothing more, nothing less.

He is no Guru but when he said many punters do the exact things bookmakers love and that is to chase losses and to bet when drunk and get too involved following certain horses, jockeys or trainers he is probably correct.

Since I ammended the method to see if following the type of races that in the past have shown to be good races for favourites Im over 1,400 up on betfair prices so thats not too bad!
