Depends which report you read Richard. I heard AstraZeneca was back under fire
this morning, the report said AstraZeneca Under Fire After 1 Of The 17 Million
Recipients Gets Hit By Bus After Second Jab……just sayinMarch 19, 2021 at 16:34 #1531125Eh,
The EU’s medical authorities may not have said there’s anything wrong with AZ, but their political leaders certainly did Richard.Value Is EverythingMarch 19, 2021 at 18:59 #1531202The Eu has threatened to seize vaccines and manufacturing plants
The vaccine is not “exported by the Eu”.
I am not aware of the USA threatening the contracts that the U.K. have in place . The Eu are
March 20, 2021 at 01:34 #1531389Yes, the authorities in individual sovereign nations have expressed concerns (some of which aren’t even in Europe, never mind the EU). That was exactly my point. The EU however has never told anyone to stop using the AZ vaccine. Many EU countries including Belgium of all places have carried on using it the whole time.
I don’t recall saying it was. Read what I actually wrote, not what you think I did.
We have of course heard much over the last four or five years about how the EU needs us a lot more than we need them so quite why it would be a problem if such countries stopped exporting vaccines I don’t know.
Ultimately though, the fact is that to beat this thing actually takes global co-operation. There really isn’t much point eradicating it from us rich folk in Western Europe and North America if it remains rampant in other parts of the world. Pigs will fly past my front window before we see that happen.
March 20, 2021 at 19:38 #1531587“I see that the headlines today are that the AZ vaccine is safe. I’m not sure how this is news because neither the UK or EU has said otherwise since approving it”.
That’s what you said Richard. My point was:
France is a part of the EU.
Macron is France’s leader.
Germany is part of the EU.
Merkell is Germany’s leader.
etc
etc
etc
Many EU leaders have said Astra Zeneca is not safe.
To imply the EU has always said AZ is safe is imo being economical with the truth. The EU knows it has made big mistakes and only has itself to blame… And yet its leaders are trying to blame Astra Zeneca and the UK. Including the EU Parliament leader herself Von Der Lyen – to try and save her skin. France and Germany have elections this year – funny that…
Or would be if it wasn’t for this awful situation. Doesn’t seem to matter to them that their ramblings are putting their own citizens off having a vaccine. Far more EU citizens will die because of their leaders stupid words.
Value Is EverythingMarch 21, 2021 at 07:08 #1531622The government have quietly awarded a 2 year Covid advertising campaign starting from April 1st 2021 (quite fitting as you would need to be a fool to not see through this).
How strange considering everything is going back to normal on June 21st (it’s never going back to normal on case you haven’t clicked on yet).
Obviously it’s too late for those who have already had the toxic vaccine put into them but we will fight on without you in trying to free our country from tyranny.
March 21, 2021 at 07:22 #1531624Like Paul waited for my GP to contact me and was given 1st dose of the Pfizer vaccine. Bit concerned that 2nd dose is 12 weeks away when the drug company recommends 3 weeks but realise that more people will get 1st jab in that time.
Gamble..does AZ vaccine used monkey blood or are you winding us up? I always thought it was also synthetic like Pfizer.
Clive & Drone your posts hit the nail right on the head. The EU just injected their own poison spreading unproven rumours about our vaccine. Thankfully we are out of their grip, never a doubt that Leave was the best option.
Really heartwarming and informative post from Lucinda who is doing a great job within the NHS keeping us safe and thank you.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 21, 2021 at 09:33 #1531643No they didn’t. Individual countries within the EU suspended use of the AZ vaccine against the advice of the EU medical regulators who at no point have said it is unsafe. Each country’s leaders speak for their own country, not the EU as a whole.
I don’t remember anyone telling me I should vote to leave in case a global pandemic turns up and the EU makes a right mess of things.
March 21, 2021 at 10:32 #1531673I said the EU regulators have not pronounced AZ as unsafe in my opening post, Richard. We agree on that. But…
Do you really think Merkell does not have a big say in what happens in the EU?
Do you really think Macron does not have a big say in what happens in the EU?Remember – ALL the countries in the EU (ie ALL the EU leaders of each individual EU country) had to agree on Brexit for us to get Brexit done.
Therefore they can be described as “EU leaders” whether you like it or not.
I agree it is not the “whole EU” but it is a bloody big part. You might have been able to get away with it if it was only one EU leader and all the others had told that leader “don’t talk nonsense”. But that never happened. Fact is many EU leaders have said the AZ vaccine is unsafe.
I voted Remain.
“Campaigned” on here for Remain.
Glad now Leave won.Value Is EverythingApril 10, 2021 at 23:25 #1535779So, the UK regulator is now saying much the same thing that the EU one was weeks ago i.e. possible link to blood clots but the benefits massively outweigh the risks. The same thing is now being investigated in the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
I told you all that the talk of them ‘playing politics’ was bollocks and it turns out I was right.

Value Is EverythingApril 12, 2021 at 12:04 #1536006“So, the UK regulator is now saying much the same thing that the EU one was weeks ago”
Are they?
Weeks ago Germany said evidence meant they had to ban the AZ jab for the over 65’s.
Now Germany says evidence means it’s had to ban the AZ jab in only the under 60’s.
No wonder the European people have no confidence in the AZ jab.
For the UK it is the under 30’s that are being offered a different jab.
Value Is EverythingApril 16, 2021 at 19:32 #1536800It’d be alright if I could actually book. Tried Monday – nearest centre 6 miles away. Tried just now – Boots available less than a mile away. No weekends so went for 5 pm on a Friday. Then tried to book my second vaccine. No luck as they said no appointments were available. Also whilst going through the procedure it said I had already missed my first appointment????? Ridiculous. So will just wait for my GP to get in touch.
