Dearly beloved co-Lounge habituees,
I hope this message finds you well.
Upon this eve of the first tranche of confirmed entries being made for the Cheltenham Festival next week, I would like to formally announce that, for the purposes of this great forum (and most of my betting, no doubt) I have become a virtual Irish citizen.
I would appreciate it if you would all accept I now identify (for betting purposes) as Irish and will to do so at least until they have weighed in for the Martin Pipe on Friday week afternoon and quite possibly beyond that to the Grand National and many of the Group 1 Flat races this coming Turf season.
Kind regards
Ian O’Davies

Value Is EverythingMarch 5, 2024 at 16:07 #1683669Quite understandable Chezza. When The Fellow won in 1994 I was a honourary french man learning french like this :
You've got to accentuate the positive.
Eliminate the negative.
Latch on to the affirmative.
Don't mess with mister in between.March 5, 2024 at 19:41 #1683697I like the French National Anthem, so much passion..
But Im a plain old mongrel..Cornish cross Geordie.
Defiantly not changing my red passports at present.March 5, 2024 at 21:28 #1683715I can’t possibly drink Guinness (alcohol), but I’m getting a substitute (Dandelion & Burdock) in for Cheltenham week.
I’m not sure what this thing called “craic” is either, but I am looking forward to the meeting AT (can’t say “in”) Cheltenham next week.
I keep practicing trying to say “the last day” but it always becomes “last time out” when I say it and it sounds to be like my new prime minister is something called a “Tea shop?”
I don’t even drink tea!
Plus every time I try to say “regulation” it comes out as “open ditch.”
Still, looking forward to backing all 28 winners!
