Hollywood Park host the American Oaks (Gr.1) for 3yo fillies over 10 furlongs this evening – going off around midnight British time.
We’ve got four European runners enjoying the LA sunshine:
Zaskar – Tom Dascombe/David Flores
Carribean Sunset – Dermot Weld / Pat Smullen
Annie Skates – Jane Chapple-Hyam / John Egan
Satan’s Circus – Jean Claude Rouget / Ioritz Mendizabal.All doing well since their arrival and John Egan who took a spin around the turf on Friday reports it to be on the good side of firm – with much more give than we expected.
Carribean Sunset surely has a decent chance based on her form in Irish 1,000gns and Coronation as long as she stays and does show any ill effects from some tough recent races.
Tom Albertrani has a useful front runner for Darley who may be hard to catch if given a soft lead.
