Gordon, who’s offered the 16s if I may ask?
I was offered 16"s by my favourite Bookmakers
Corals
,Zarkava a fortnight ago,i had a £50 e/w bet with them at 12"s for the Champion hurdle,i spoke to them again on Saturday about another horse and during our conversation i was told they would give me 10"s now if i was interested,i told them i am still not convinced about
Celestial Halo
as a chaser!
The word Loyalty did come up,so somebody reads my posts!
March 22, 2010 at 11:02 #284807Could there be a chance that Big Bucks will switch to chasing again and Celestial Halo will take the World Hurdle route? He’s been hurdling for a long time now to switch to fences and he was always thought of as a future World Hurdle horse. If I was Andy Stewart I think I’d want BB to have another go over fences.

Now there"s a thought Moe!Too many imponderables to get involved financially, its good to let the dust settle over the summer before committing sometimes!
March 22, 2010 at 11:21 #284818Anyone who backs Dunguib to win a Champion Hurdle wants to watch the Champion and the Supreme again- Binocular hurdles like Istabraq, Dunguib is like John Sergeant on Strictly Come Dancing.

Binocular hurdles like a Red Deer, Dunguib like a John Deere!

Oh and my main early investment will be Celestial Halo for The Arkle, if he can wing those fences as he does his hurdles, he will be a serious contender.
I have already been offered 16/1 about Celestial Halo for the Arkle and haven"t took it! As much as i am a fan of the horse i am not convinced his "build" is that of an Arkle winner,i will give it more thought mind! I have already backed next years RSA winner at 66/1,he"s called Tell Massini, dont tell everyone though!

He would be at near the top of my list also TAPK. Can you just stroll into a bookies and request odds about horses for next year’s novice races?

Better to communicate over the phone with a supervisor or even an odds compiler if you can get hold of one! The shop assistants always seem to find it all a bit too much effort to pick the phone up! Of course nowadays a mere mention of "The Ante-Post King" has the shutters down quicker than Jordans!!

From looking into my very own crystal ball TAPK Weapon’s Amnesty won’t be out of the frame next year

You stick to Crystal balls thm,i"ll stick to my balls of steel, 3 of my biggest ever wins came last week from what i would describe as Gold Cup horses, Weapons, Albertas and Imperial, put a gun to my head and at the current prices Weapons at 10/1 would be my choice,he does have physical issues and to quicken like he did past Long Run,he really wants his good ground but there"s further improvement in him,he jumps efficiently and Davy Russell knows that he will do exactly the same as this year in the build up and thats get beat a couple of times! He could go off at a daft price again next year!
March 22, 2010 at 17:27 #284890add the five that missed this year
AN SIORRAC reported to be OK now and due out in October
MIKEAL D’HAUGENT
HURRICANE RUN
WEIRD AL
RASH MOVE qualified one day too late for this years FoxhuntersDon’t forget Me Voici. He’s gonna be a fine novice chaser next year. So glad he wasn’t asked the question in the Triumph.

TAPK, WA was on my radar this year until a certain D Russell was quoted at an Irish Preview evening saying "WA is not good enough to win the RSA". The same D Russell who in 2008 at a preview evening put the punters off the heavily gambled on Tiger Cry in the Grand Annual.
March 23, 2010 at 14:16 #285066Would that be the same Davie Russell who said he could win it ?

Shack1,i sympathise if thats the case,Davy obviously fell for the "Henderson hype",i slated Davy twice this year for finishing 2nd to Pandorama and Citizen Vic but i have always had a soft spot for Weapons Amnesty,if he gets to Cheltenham in the same form as this year he will take some catching on Good ground!Somersby just needs to show he gets 3m,before i lump on him too!
March 23, 2010 at 22:03 #285196i think a horse who is forgotten as was injured this year is pride of dulcote! will be keeping a close eye on this one. he got within 1/2 length of the impressive weapons amnesty at last years festival and his only run over fences was top class. keep an eye out boys
March 24, 2010 at 12:24 #285266There all headline horses again apart from Dulcote and Deep Purple!??
Dont we ever learn how to beat the bookmaker? Start at the bottom of the card and work up. I had Cue Card in the bumper @ 40’s but theres a little matter of jumping eight fences at speed he has to negotiate.
All the other recomendations could have been repeated
by a four year old listening to the introduction of each days 2010 coverage by channel four and what we had to look forward to see running.I’m leaving Ante Post alone and cant wait till 2011 as my hotels already booked!

You are a Genius! You had all of one race at Fontwell to go on there,or did you just stick a pin on it? I prefer to start at the top of the card and work down aswell!
March 24, 2010 at 18:08 #285367Must admit I was most impressed with:
Peddlers Cross
Weapons Amnesty
Sizing EuropeAll three will be in with very good shouts next year providing they stay healthy.
There are two main rules I used when selecting this year:
1. Horses for courses
2. Class always tellsI was lucky enough to have Pause and Clause/Buena Vista which fit into the first category and Binocular/Sizing Europe for the second.
