    I won’t go into detail what the L63 bet is, because i expect anyone reading this to already know (63 win best, 126 e/w bets).

    But how may know about the Alphabet which is available at some bookmakers as a alternative to the Heinz bet?

    The Alphahbet like the Heinz bet is for 6 horse / dog selections
    but unlike the Heinz bet Doesn’t cover as many perms (Doubles, Trebles, Fourfolds, Fivefolds, Sixfold) etc but is only 26 win bets/ 52 e/w bets.

    the Alphabet is basically a yankee bet (4 horses – 6 doubles, 4 trebles, 1 fourfold = 11 bets) + 2 additional bets

    for example.

    A horse
    B horse
    C horse
    D horse
    E horse
    F horse

    if you wish to know how to calculate wins from either bets look at
    free-bet-calculator.co.uk

    heinz = (6 singles, 15 doubles, 20 trebles, 15 fourfolds, 6 fivefolds, 1 accumulator) = 63 wins bets / 126 e/w bets

    alphabet = ( 6 singles, 12 doubles, 6 trebles, 1 fourfold, 1 sixfold) = 26 wins bets / 52 e/w bets

    The Alphabet covers like this you fill in your six horse selections like on the L63 slip horses A – F

    Alphabet
    with horses A – C you are covered (3 singles, three doubles, 1 treble)

    With horses D – F you are covered (3 singles, three doubles, 1 treble)

    with horses B – D you are covered (6 doubles, 4 trebles, 1 fourfold)

    and you are covered for the six horse accumulator if you are lucky for them all to win..

    if your bookmaker doesnt have a Alphabet slip you could write it out as a yankee + two separate slips (6 singles, 6 doubles, 2 trebles and a sixhorse accumulator)

    the reason i think the Alphabet represents better value than the heinz is because it has less selection (hence cheaper) and how often putting 6 horses on a betting slip do you get more than 1-3 winners?, i expect maybe 2-3 so i get more of my stake back with the alphabet, and i cover the lucky day i get all 6 (heres hoping)

    i also as past of my betting strategy only bet in horse races of 8-14 runners, i always bet each-way even on favs, i look at horse racing meeting where favs don’t do so well and look to bet on horse other than fav at odds of less than 12-1), typically handicaps, i also use this site

    geegeez.co.uk, and its race cards as they have lots of information,

    let me know what you think…

    i used to do L63 and Heinz but everytime i had a loser it was like losing half my bets, have a look at the alphabet and let me know what you think…
