He is on the ATR Sunday Forum tomorrow. Don’t watch every week but haven’t seen him on that before.
Pity; I usually have waffles for breakfast whilst watching the Sunday Forum but to do so this week would be overkill.
March 12, 2013 at 17:02 #432253He is on ATR everyday this week with Barry Geraghty at 10am for a special q&a show.
March 13, 2013 at 18:40 #432525Crusty Ch 4 is already contaminated , Mick Fitz is killing it , droning on incessantly ………not joy or bliss to be shure (sic )
Could someone please take him back to ATR and let him hang out with the miscreants there …..but hidden away from national tv please
in fairness Chapman could kill the programme stone dead , but then again I’m bored with it already and wont be watching it any time soon
The Booth or caravan thing with GC et al is a massive turn off , Claire is just herself , but even with her occasional brilliance , its surely not enough to carry the entire show ……as for Rishi and Tanya …dont get me started …….
imo

March 14, 2013 at 01:45 #432620Alastair Down’s contributions have definitely added something to what has been pretty lacklustre coverage.
His scene-setters have been perceptive, without being overly smug.

I beg to differ. I think he has been at his "clunkingly florid" worst, sensationalising horse races as life-defining events by delving into his well-worn book of hackneyed superlatives and similes.

I certainly can’t argue with that bit, to be honest. I do like his style and use of language but realise he does go a bit over the top at times.
March 14, 2013 at 17:02 #432734I must confess I’ve been quite impressed by the coverage this week- cunningham comes in for a lot of criticism, but at least he shows enthusiasm.
mcgrath and ted walsh are also good value. I feel jimbo seems more comfortable these days, no longer in the shadow of his old buddy francombe, who’s only line seemed to be to tip up random outsiders who had no chance.
also the anchors are a lot smoother- nick luck and balding- I feel the racing connections have better banter and give more back to clare than previous lead presenters they’ve had in the past. Maybe because of her racing connections and the fact she’s supposed to be the darling of the british public.

Sometimes there’s no need for adjectives or fancy rhetoric. Was reading in the RP earlier about Sprinter Sacre’s performance and the writers have trawled the thesaurus in their attempt to describe him.
He was magnificent.
