Tricky looking race, and hot enough bets going around, so I’ve ditched by my bets on the earlier hurdle, and had a go in this as instead

April 12, 2024 at 17:28 #1690012Brilliant stuff VtC, that’s you sorted for the week.
A good race but I think Pikar has had it
A bad day in that regard.April 12, 2024 at 17:32 #1690013wd VTC.
Go Dante epic run.
April 12, 2024 at 17:56 #1690017Well done VTC.
An absolute shocker from the jockey on Go Dante. One of my favourite horses and he’d have won hard held today.
You could clearly see he was digging his heels in so have no idea why he didn’t turn him and walk in from the rear.
April 12, 2024 at 18:18 #1690021Just wow, VTC

Where did that one come from?
April 12, 2024 at 18:56 #1690030Must have been 999-1 turning in to the straight.
Well done VtC.
April 12, 2024 at 19:05 #1690034Well done VtC.
El Jefe has been improving all season, winning in the same style he did today picking off his field up the straight. I thought he might have too tough a task today but once again he produced the goods. Stable has had individual 7 runners this season and El Jefe has provided all 5 wins.
Winning jockey Ben Smith has caught the eye of a good few of us up here more than once during his short career. He talked well in an excellent post-race interview by Lydia Hislop on Racing TV. Must help that his father Mike Smith has experience in multiple equestrian disciplines.
April 12, 2024 at 19:08 #1690035Cracker VtC

The more I know the less I understand.
April 12, 2024 at 23:13 #1690087Well done VTC, only just caught the highlights from today and I have to say this was the strangest race I think I’ve ever seen with what happened at the start and then El Jefe looking tailed off at one point and storming home.
April 13, 2024 at 00:47 #1690098Thanks All
April 13, 2024 at 12:47 #1690209I had a last minute bet on Al Jefe. Not sure if it was because it had gone blue on oddschecker or if I thought it was trained by Ann Hamilton (who I love) not Andrew*; it could have been both Either way I would have kicked myself if I hadn’t as I always throw a few pennies at VtC’s long priced selections and I didn’t spot that one. What a remarkable race and another one in which the commentator doesn’t pick up on the winner till the last minute.
*nothing against Andrew, it’s just that I’ve never heard of him! - AuthorPosts
