Lecky Watson, won today, not impressive, but a small interest for me at 33’s AP.
Obviously a very tricky race this far out with multiple big price winners over the years.
I suspect that Willie has decided his fate by starting him over a distance so early in his novice career.Sorry if there is an existing thread, I could not find it.
November 2, 2023 at 22:00 #1668871High Class Hero 16-1
November 2, 2023 at 23:12 #1668876Lecky Watson looked like he was a bit of a mule today to me
He had no interest in putting his head down and fell in
This race is virtually impossible antepost
November 17, 2023 at 15:40 #1670742Pleased The Big Doyen showed up well there. High Class Hero beat him easy.
November 18, 2023 at 14:08 #1670892You obviously listen to Seven on the other forum.
November 18, 2023 at 19:08 #1670946My ante-post horse ran today and very pleased with him…….
STELLAR STORY 33/1 ew
A full brother to THE STORYTELLER (who knew his way around Cheltenham)
I have been topping up all summer and pleased to say the form is coming together
Stellar Story was 5th in his first bumper but won his second race last season (Green as grass) beating ANY ROAD (won his first hurdle race last week).
Ran and beat ILE ATLANTIQUE in his last run of the season and you could see the penny drop half way up the run in and he got up close home, a stayer through and through. ILE ATLANTIQUE won last week also first run over hurdles. ILE ATLANTIQUE also got beat roughly the same distance by FIREFOX and he also won last week.
When STELLAR STORY beat ILE ATLATIQUE that day 4 lengths 3rd was CALDWELL POTTER who ran IT’S FOR ME to a length and a half last Thursday at Punchestown.
STELLAR STORY won at Navan today and the further he went the better.
Bet in on the strength of that today but I’m really looking forward to this horse, tough as old boots and loves a battle
November 19, 2023 at 11:14 #1671012Croke Park has a good chance to throw his hat into the ring today
January 13, 2024 at 07:09 #1677094Took my fiver back from Paddy’s for Ile Atlantique as he was still the 25s that I bet him at, and I’m not going to be stupid enough to bet on this a year in advance again. Leaves me with nothing for this race for now….which is as it should be.
January 19, 2024 at 21:59 #1677880High Class Hero back on the track Sunday.
January 21, 2024 at 15:00 #1678121Given how quick bookmakers are to cut prices nowadays, I am slightly surprised Ladbrokes left High Class Hero unchanged on 10/1 after the race.
Took it because I have a feeling the horse will be better in a larger field with a stronger pace.
January 21, 2024 at 15:17 #1678131Good man CAS welcome aboard :o)
January 21, 2024 at 16:54 #1678149I’d say they didn’t cut him because it was a pretty dissapointing effort
Will need to improve a huge amount from that to be contending in a grade 1
January 21, 2024 at 17:03 #1678151Every other firm did cut his price.
January 21, 2024 at 17:17 #1678153Slow pace on testing ground. First run after a break. Turn of foot to put the race to bed like in previous races. It isn’t ‘the cup final’ and I wasn’t disappointed.
January 21, 2024 at 17:53 #1678156Hard to knock a horse who is now 5/5 under rules.
January 24, 2024 at 16:09 #1678350Dancing City 50-1
For reasons explained on the Nathaniel Lacy thread. I don’t know much about the sire but he came 2nd in a Queen’s Vase and there’s a bit of stamina here and there on the dam’s side.
DC has some nice bumper form so might have the quality for graded races. The same owners have Shanagh Bob, who’s favourite for the River Don, but I don’t think they would mind having two for this if DC runs well at Leopardstown assuming he goes- he’s old enough to get on with it and see anyway.January 27, 2024 at 21:49 #1678917Horse called Chigorin could be flying under the radar for this.
Big raw type who could have a touch of the Minella Indos about him. Henry usually unleashes one at Clonmel next month for this. Don’t be surprised to see this lad go there and enter everyone’s notebooks.
Form’s not worth much at the moment but I reckon this fella has a future.
