I’d worry about her being too fast for a Guineas.
June 21, 2024 at 14:46 #1699173Shes more than speed as Ryan Moore said Moyglare horse. 5s for Guineas had a bit of that each way.

June 21, 2024 at 14:49 #1699177Good performance, but probably exaggerated by the pace of the race. I’d like to see the sectionals. Those played late might have had an advantage. Look at where the second came from.
Value Is EverythingJune 21, 2024 at 14:54 #16991785/1 for a race that is almost a year away and when lots of classy two year olds have not even set foot on the track yet.
Good luck but it is not my idea of a bet.
June 21, 2024 at 15:05 #1699183She looks at quality filly, big and plenty of scope. Don’t think there be many better than her come October
June 21, 2024 at 15:08 #1699188Fairy Godmother is by a Guineas winner but out of a filly that only raced at 6f who was a half sister to a Richmond stakes (Goodwood 6f winner). Not certain to stay.
Value Is EverythingJune 21, 2024 at 15:26 #1699194She’s a sprinter
Absolutely no hope of staying a mile strongly enough to win a guineas on that showing
The way she’s tanked through the race you could even drop her to 5f
June 21, 2024 at 15:40 #1699196Agree FF. It was speed that won her today’s race, not stamina.
I am wary about long term 3yo targets for speedy two year olds.
June 21, 2024 at 15:45 #1699199This time of year the guineas market is always top loaded with sprinters. Little Big Bear, River Tiber etc all headed the market this time of year. You can get them mind, Henrythenavigator but its more often than not, not

June 21, 2024 at 16:10 #1699208AOB… “What she did there today is incredible, and she’s only going to get better with every race, she’ll get stronger and will stay. She’s very exciting. Ryan said he thought she was going to be a Moyglare filly, so seven would be no problem for her this year. She’s obviously exceptional.”
Nothing said there suggested she’s going to be just a sprinter. Time will tell.
June 21, 2024 at 16:25 #1699210Is it just me or have they all been really ordinary 2yo winners this Royal Ascot (so far)? Time will tell but I’d be surprised if we can remember the names of half of them by the time the fillies mile is run never mind next May.
What I forgot to add is she was quite good but peoples opinions may be distorted by how many bunched finishes and likely lesser winners we’ve had in the other races. How good is she? They’ll have a good idea as they’ve got the 3rd and shes had the run of things. If they’d expect Fairy Godmother to beat her by several lengths anyway then factoring in the interference its probably only confirmed what they knew if you get where i’m coming from.
June 21, 2024 at 17:55 #1699250I do expect Fairy Godmother to develop into a very good horse, but possibly more Cheveley Park / Commonwealth Cup would be her Group 1’s rather than Guineas.
Value Is EverythingJune 21, 2024 at 18:16 #1699259Mike, you don’t seriously believe anything O’Brien says, do you? Someone who told us years ago that Galileo could win a July Cup. And he hasn’t stopped since.

He also said City Of Troy’s heart rate went up in the 2000 Guineas, and would put that run behind him in the Derby.
