The triple Aintree Hurdle winner is out for the season according to the RP site after suffering a ligament injury at home. Disappointing that he won’t be able to go for a fourth win around Liverpool after a fabulous win there last year. This time of year can be quite depressing for jumps fans with promising horses being ruled out for the season.
November 2, 2008 at 05:46 #187539He also won the 4yo hurdle there.
November 2, 2008 at 20:41 #187614Such a shame as he could have easily equalled Morley Streets 4 wins in the Liverpool Hurdle.
As long as he recovers and keeps fit and healthy thats the main thing, he owes noone anything.
November 3, 2008 at 05:53 #187678Yea a big shame. He’s been a revelation at Aintree.Let’s hope he makes a good recovery and he’s back on the track next season.
February 23, 2009 at 18:58 #211933Al Eile is entered in a 1m4 race on the AW at Dundalk on Friday that also includes Harchibald, Jazz Messenger, Essex, Bobs Pride and River Liane. Maybe he’ll make Liverpool after all.

Hope so IC, although I have never won any money on him, be great to see him there.

Value Is EverythingFebruary 28, 2009 at 01:48 #212676Next stop Aintree. Good confident ride from Fran and a great price to boot!
February 28, 2009 at 04:33 #212705Drifted like a barge pre-off on Betfair, then started biggest price all day in-running before drifting a touch more despite always travelling easily.
If we can read from this that the vibes weren’t great and people expected him to need a run, it must surely bode well for Aintree.
February 28, 2009 at 13:29 #212717Worth bearing in mind that it was reported that the ground at Dundalk had been especially harrowed to produce a kinder surface for accomodating Al. et al. How do the race times last night compare to standard?
February 28, 2009 at 16:23 #212744Brilliant,
Hope he goes for the Aintree race, my money will be on him
