Well after being very disappointed re the no park and ride this year I have to say that parking in the steeplechase enclosure went really well. No delays of significance getting in or out. Would recommend anyone going to leave plenty of time as the vehicle has to be searched fully going in. Had a really smashing day!!!
April 8, 2010 at 19:35 #288666When they search a vehicle in liverpool, please do check that……

WHERES MY F****G SATNAV?
April 9, 2010 at 08:36 #288779Well I chose the rather unoriginal idea of having my stag do there tomorrow so they can check the coach as we enter the steeplechase enclosure coach park but good luck to them if they can find their way through the empty cans.
Seriously though – will they thoroughly check a coach and what exactly are they looking for considering you can take your own food and drink into the car park but not the course ?

Wheelbraces, wilson. For too long now Southerners have been coming up to Liverpool and pinching car wheels and we scousers have been getting the blame.
April 13, 2010 at 16:04 #290080I’m glad Ten Plus found the car park ok. We did .. eventually after losing all signage and doing a grand tour of Liverpool with not a single sign to Aintree to be spotted anywhere. Resorted to the train Saturday and as I feared, whilst Merseyrail ran it like clockwork, the queueing, pushing, shoving and packed on the train like the proverbial sardines was not pleasant. Please bring back the Park & Ride!
April 13, 2010 at 16:14 #290081We came in from the M58 and found the signs fine – but we also had a good idea of where we were going to. Would use the Park and Ride if was introduced again as the parking per day cost £10 plus booking fee £5 (tickets came special delivery – which they insist on as too many people try to claim they haven’t received them … so us honest lot have yet again to pay for the dishonesty of others but that’s nother soap-box issue!!!). Suggest we keep asking for re-intro of Park and Ride – let them know what happened to you … not a pleasant way to travel to and from such a great event.
April 13, 2010 at 16:53 #290089I parked up at the Liverpool South Parkway and got the train in. It was spot on.
Changed at Liverpool Central ( I say change at Liverpool Central, I just walk about 10 feet across the platform), then straight onto another train into Aintree Station.
I remember once going to Anfield in the car to watch the Reds. I parked the car up and this little lad came up and said "Can I look after your car for £5 mister"
I said p**s off, have you seen that Rottweiler on the back seat, to which he replied, "can it put out fires".
Happy Days
