Misty for Me (Irish 1000 Guineas)
Misty for Me(Pretty Polly)
St Nicholas Abbey(Cornation Cup)
Fame and Glory (Gold Cup)
Treasure Beach( Irish Derby)
So You Think (Tattersalls Gold Cup)
Roderic O Conner (Irish 2000 Guineas)With the might of 2yr olds behind him and the complete wealth of Middle Distance talent, could it be done this year?.
You can already give him the Irish St Leger and the Irish Oaks and the Irish Champion Stakes. With some horse’s going to be aimed specifically for the Breeders Cup(Thinking Classic, Marathon and a few juveniles good enough to stake their claim it could be the year.

3/4 of his Group wins have been in Ireland this is telling you something.
Irish Racing is on its knees, you only gotta look at how bent it is over there with smaller trainers struggling to get decent horses and to epitomise this fact the Irish Derby is boycotted by trainers who could challenge Aidan which has resulted him in winning it 6 times in a row.
When Aidan has faced proper horses this year he has struggled, Roderic O’Conner, So You Think, Misty For Me, Recitle, Seville, Wonder of Wonders, Cape Blanco etc – ALL HERALDED in the Emerald Isle, it’s ok though they can go back to Ireland and win "Group 1’s" just to add back that little bit of reputation they’ve lost overseas.
June 30, 2011 at 12:09 #362936I would agree to a large degree with what you say but in fairness the British Raider have come over and done nothing…other than Dandy Nicholls. The prize money is far superior to England yet the runner from Britain don’t follow. I do believe Roderic O Conner is a terrible 2000 Guineas winner but Misty For Me if fit and on proper ground will always beat Blue Bunting from what my eyes tell me. Carlton House no goes into the slowboat camp after his terrible pathetic effort in the Irish Derby.
The other point is the lack of depth this year from the other Irish Trainer’s. It must be said however our 2yr old crop last year were not good by any stretch of the imagination so you can expect a bad 2yr old crop so suddenly outperform in their 3yr old careers.
June 30, 2011 at 12:13 #362938Two things Mr.Wilson:
1) Who boycotts the Irish Derby
2) Misty For Me, Roderic O’Connor, So You Think and Cape Blanco all beat horses who have either placed or won ‘Group 1’s’ overseas. Go figure.
Ruby, what is the record for Group 1’s in a season, 25 or so? A long, long way to go!
June 30, 2011 at 12:18 #36294224 the Record and 25 is the new record.
A long way to go but the 2yr old races are completely ripe for him as are the Middle Distance races especially since the only horse he will come up against is Workforce in the 10f division and he isn’t a 10f horse.
Midday was destroyed by Misty for Me and you think over 10f MFM will confirm form.
He will have So You Think odds on in the Eclipse and Zoffany prob a 2/1 chance on Sunday in France.
June 30, 2011 at 12:20 #362945If you also look at the Falmouth he has the top 2 in the RPR ratings.
Any sort of proper Breeders Cup campaign should result in the Classic, Marathon, Turf and maybe one Juvenile race. Say they get 2 and plunder those end of season French races they be fairly close.
June 30, 2011 at 13:52 #362968I’d still like to know who boycotts the Irish Derby Mr.Wilson?
July 2, 2011 at 14:51 #3632438th Group 1 Winner So You Think (Coral Eclipse)
Next stop Zoffany 2moro Prix Jean Prat
July 2, 2011 at 23:05 #363339The record is 25.
July 2, 2011 at 23:23 #363340When Aidan has faced proper horses this year he has struggled,
Mr W – You generally talk rubbish on here but this time have excelled yourself.
Today AOB saw off Sir Michael. In the Derby he saw off Sir a
Michael again.Top trainer.
July 4, 2011 at 10:53 #363534I’d still like to know who boycotts the Irish Derby Mr.Wilson?
I do. Joke of an event nowadays.
July 4, 2011 at 11:37 #363536When the Lilywhites are in action I’d say you boycott a lot of things IC
Seriously though, to say that trainers boycott the Irish derby is ignorant.
July 4, 2011 at 12:35 #363544Its too expensive and full of complete toe rags on Derby Day.
July 10, 2011 at 18:10 #364188Group 1 No.9 (Cape Blanco Man Of War)
Group 1 next week
France Grand Prix
Irish OaksJuly 10, 2011 at 23:31 #364229Not wishing to change the subject but seeems like Jamie learned from his last ride in the US for Ballydoyle. No crossing over in front of the leading horse , no seeking the rail , no smart ass riding. No disqualification. How quickly they learn in the US!Straight as a dye up the middle of the course. And I thought in my innocence that the GB jockeys could not steer a horse in a straight line to the winning post.It is easier to cheat and pay than to live by the rules unless you and your horse gets disqualified, just once.Delighted to see Cape Blanco winning another group one race.Wonder where and when he races in the new owners colors? He did at Ascot I believe. But not Fame and Glory.Tricky.
July 11, 2011 at 09:13 #364260Expect Wonder of Wonder’s to make it no. 10 Sunday.
July 11, 2011 at 22:09 #364337will fallon keep the ride on wonder of wonders or willthey give it to moore?i hope fallon gets the nod,as he deserves a break, but i doubt he will
