people change with them
Being cooped up for a year
may not help the demons rest.
You’re far more Woolf than
me and you know the proof
of that in your differing personas. People come people go, we live now in a frenzied
internet based world which
is inward looking ( twitter) and outward looking ( google )
We’re somewhere on that axis.
You can call it evil or advancement.
Dr Jeckyl get yourself to bed and dont hide yourself away – nice pictures by the way at the turn of day, and in time I’ll probably learn that, rather than munch on hay.May 19, 2021 at 12:45 #1541522Get this indulgent personalised nonsense kicked into the lounge if anywhere.
May 19, 2021 at 12:55 #1541523Weaver is hardly alone in having to pad out what he is trying to say. More eloquent types struggle too. The very fluent Nick Luck resorts to ‘extraordinary’ enough to make it commonplace.
Fond memories of Jimmy Lindley for me. Phrases such as ‘stands over a lot of ground’, ‘he’s a dab hand with this type of horse’, ‘one of our best lightweights’ (remember those ?),
May 19, 2021 at 19:56 #1541555Jimmy used to say that a horse ” has a heart as big as himself “.
And ” our stall-handlers are the best in the world “.May 19, 2021 at 20:22 #1541558So many good Lindleyisms on this thread!

May 19, 2021 at 22:05 #1541568I remember him once saying a horse he had seen in the paddock that had not quite shed its winter coat “looked like a teddy bear.”
