I have been waiting very patiently for a nice horse trained by one of my favourite trainers, Andrew Balding.

The horse runs in 300 Lingfield and a few very good winners have come out of his debut run maiden where if you get the opportunity to watch he gets no run and jockey is very easy on him.

The yards horses always improve for the run and with some big yards present a decent price should be offered :-) the yard also have a lovely bred newcomer running that day but with luck in running Johnny Rae will win well.

I know there are a few form students out there, check out some of the winners from the above mentioned maiden ;-)

I like the look of Jonny Rae here. He shaped well first time up and the race has seen a few winners come out of it since.

Button Down looks the obvious one in some ways but I had a lay bet on that one when he went off 11/10f and took him on with Montbazon. He looks solid enough but is becoming a bit disappointing and I’d rather back one who might make good improvement for the sole start thus far.

I hope you got an early price because it looks like Jonny Rae may start fav here. There is some 3/1 left, and at less than those odds I would probably just leave it.

    Best of luck!

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Jonny Rae was disappointing there. He seemed keen early and I thought it was a bit of an ask to make the running there.

Button Down went out to tempting odds but I decided to leave the race alone and after seeing the horse struggle to keep tabs I was surprised he ran on so well to take second. A worrying trend of 4 consecutive seconds for button down now and he looked like six miles would be a suitable trip for him.

Still, a winner for the Queen to cheer her up!

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
