I received a letter from Virgin Media this morning.
I could tell from the envelope that it was about football. As I have no interest in football I was going to throw it in the bin, but having nothing better to do I read it.
I’m glad I did as it says that Virgin have done a deal with Sentanta and as I have the XL TV package I get six Sentanta sports channels at no extra cost.
This includes UK Racing.
As far as I know the XL package is the same as the old NTL family pack i.e. all channels except any premium channels. Anyone with Virgin check channel 536 to see if you now receive UK Racing.
Best news I have had this week
August 16, 2007 at 15:57 #111477This has been mentioned before in the Setanta/Racing UK thread
August 23, 2007 at 17:51 #112309it might have been mentioned before but it slipped under my radar as i had other things to think about
anyway, courtesy of a near miss card fraud today i went through all bills and statements and found my virginmedia bill was charging me for the XL tv pack and another 15 for the setanta sports pack, which is already included in the XL pack
so i phoned em – and after my nightmare experiences of trying to deal with ntl helpdesks it was bloody swift and pleasing service, they told me i wouldn’t be paying for the setanta anymore as i now get it for free and credited me 15 quid as well
and the phone call cost nothing from my virginmedia phone
so if anyone has virginmedia which used to be ntl/cablewest and if you haven’t checked yet … check now
i love it when opposing firms fight each other, it just means better deals for us
August 23, 2007 at 18:16 #112323I agree, after losing the Sky channels we are due a bit of good fortune, I phoned VM and had a bit of a toot at them about the prices they were offering to new customers and I ended up with Phone, Broadband and XL tv for £30 a month down from about £50 plus a V+ box for £100. Now I’ve got RUK for free too via Setanta, I just hope they don’t end the deal before Cheltenham!
August 23, 2007 at 18:43 #112331The Virgin Setanata deal is not a promotion it is for the forseable future and is part of virgin new sports channel which they are planning on launching
