Els 90/1I take it you didn’t turn into the golf last weekend Pants? For the record he pretty much had the event wrapped up after 27 holes!
Woods is in fine form, majestic actually, and I make him more like a 2/1 chance. The only thing that can stop him is if his emotions get on top, but this is Tiger Woods mate.
He’ll win this weekend and win well – mark my words.
We’ll look back like fools come the end of the year thinking ‘Rory bleeding who?’

Woods always wins at Firestone, that was his 8th win there, Oak Hill is a completely different set up, he won’t get away with his wayward driving here like he did last week.
He’s won seven events in the last tournament before a Major since 2008 and failed to follow up the next week in all seven so don’t get too carried away with his recent form.
4/1 is frankly ridiculous compared to Mickelson at 16/1 who is having an outstanding season and has won 4 Majors since Tiger last won one.
August 7, 2013 at 15:54 #447762Just to continue the Losing theme from yesterday,I really fancied the ‘Mastercraftsman’ colt
Nezar
today and guess what he gets mugged on the line.Thats racing, the highs and lows.If there’s a lesson to be learned from betting like an idiot its not to!
How many times have you
backed a winner, something you really fancied for a while and you’ve collected at tasty Odds, only to blow the lot betting for bettings sake thereafter. Then when you sit down and dissect your bets it turns out you’ve put more on one later that you never had any intention of betting the night before than you did your actual Winner!!
We’ve all done it
and you just cant bet like that if you want to succeed at this game long term.
Not everyone Gord.
Value Is EverythingAugust 7, 2013 at 16:02 #447763Gord what you think of win by Rex in stewards cup i was on hoof it this time i was gutted.
Thought Rex was the obvious value bet Darren. Considering his Windsor form with Stewards Cup fav Tropics. Haggas in cracking form too.
Just one horse tipped in Stewards Cup, 1 winner @ 18/1 (and win only).
Hoof It was a good horse once, with emphasis on "was". Been injured since showing anything of note and doubt whether he’ll ever return to form.
Rex is improving and a Group 1 winner in the making.

I’m sorry mate, but most of what you’ve just said is complete and utter cobblers.
Yes, Firestone is a different set up to Oak Hill but Tiger has won on all types of courses, more than anyone actually, so why would this one in particular not favour him?
Major Championships are meant to be more difficult and with a premium for accuracy off the tee, that’s genuinely why the players opt to use 3 Woods, 5 Woods and Irons to keep it in play. To my mind, Tiger hits those clubs as well as anyone. You must enjoy his ‘stinger’ shot right??!
Your argument is even more floored given that Tiger was ranked 9th in Driving Accuracy last week where he was bombing driver after driver out there. Lefty was towards the bottom of those stats last week.
In terms of Major Championships won, you claim Phil has won four since Tiger won at Torrey Pines in 2008. Please list these as I can only remember the two
For what its worth I think Phil is probably a little over priced at 16/1 and wouldn’t put anyone off backing him, especially if the flat stick is working again this week. But in my book Tiger Woods is in outstanding form and is still worth backing at 4/1. Its basically a free bet if you back him E/W because he’ll be placed at the very least!
Enjoy the Championship mate, and I look forward to a potential pasting from you come Monday morning!
August 7, 2013 at 20:33 #447785Sorry OLAS it is just two not four but I’d still disagree on most your other points. Bring it on tomorrow and may the best left hander win!

We’ve all done it and you just cant bet like that if you want to succeed at this game long term.I specialise in long range wagers and have done well over the years,I have some tasty wagers lined up for plenty future races including
My Tent or Yours
at 33/1 for the Champion hurdle but my next big lift will come from the Arc and
Flintshire
,in between now and then I’ll try not to lose stupidly!
Wow! Is Flintshire really better than Intello, Gord?
August 7, 2013 at 21:03 #447794I spy with my little eye something beginning with…
(Clues: Ebor, more middling hot weather.)
Might do it in a trixie with Hoof It and Hot Snap, boss, if a bookie offers all three at a.p. prices. Too late and too tired to look the noo.
You fancy ‘Sun Central’ Grimes do you? I wouldn’t put you off that ones chances but the handicapper might just have him now! I cant split
Opinion
and
Stencive
myself, over 1m 6f I might just favour the former but at 10/1 and 12/1 respectively I’ve backed the pair of them both solid e/w prices for horses who look targeted for the race imo.
Yes, Gordon, that Opinion ran a blinder in that Gold Cup, didn’t he – although Colour Vision has been a major disappointment so far. I wonder what’s happened to him.
I’ll need to look at Stencive’s form again. He’s been mentioned in the press a lot, I believe, recently, for different races.
Oops… I think that was Opinion Poll!
August 9, 2013 at 15:48 #447917A bit late but well done ginger on last week
Gord what you think of INDIAN MUJUHAREN tonight drop back in trip to 7f may not be a derby horse next year a bit like AUSTRALIA who i hope to see at a mile next time up.
Also any thoughts on FRIENDSHIP he won maiden other night i think he got a profile like TREASURE BEACH he be a exposed 2yo but next year he thrive at middle distances.
August 9, 2013 at 16:55 #447923One running later that could be value in a weak looking event.
Ron Harris could just be coming into form as Noverre to Go highlighted today so Secret Witness 820 Newkt could go close at 16sAugust 9, 2013 at 17:58 #447927Gord what you think of INDIAN MUJUHAREN tonight drop back in trip to 7f may not be a derby horse……….
Looked a seriously classy animal again tonight, definitely a Derby prospect as opposed to the Guineas Darren! For me he’s top of the Derby tree thus far, I wouldn’t quibble about the 16s still somehow on offer. If it weren’t for the upcoming move I’d dive in with both feet. Next stop Donny for this lad!
August 9, 2013 at 18:13 #447928Did anyone see Aiden’ O’Brien’s 2yo Indian Maharaja at Gowran Park last week?
I think I’d like to see him again before making my mind up.
Yes I saw him Steve and first impressions were ‘Racing Post Trophy’ rather than ‘Royal Lodge’ but for as much as he’s a very free moving colt,he reminded me of ‘St Nicholas abbey’ the way he travelled but I certainly marked him down as a Group 1 horse of the future,it does help to be bred in the purple like you say mind.
Darren being born with the gift of Talent spotting, beit Horses,Boxers,Footballers,Tennis players or even X-factor contestants and Strictly Dancers,I stand by my initial impression of this
Indian Maharaja
. Group 1 horse,he’s the Racing Post Trophy winner which makes him a Derby horse,he’s not a Guineas horse though!

Secret Witness
has had some glory days can he return??

Derby

winner
Gord? I’d side with the latter myself, I think he’s very good indeed!

Derby horse for now Boz for sure. What lets him down is his Dam,she lacked Stamina even though her bloodlines suggested she
should
have been a stayer.Have you heard of a horse called
Stubbs
,he’s a Guineas/Derby horse for sure!
