AP O’ Brien & John Murtagh, a great achievment to both men i know people will come on saying not hard with the horses they have bla bla bla, but i dont buy into that at all what they have done this week is on a par (justa example that came into my head) with Utd winning premership & Champions league, and Ferguson gets all the praise even a knighthood but look at the money & status at the club!!!!

it doesnt matter how much money & best horses you have they still have to be trained correctly, if people say it is cause they have the best horses etc look at chelsea they have best everything but won nothing this season.

SO CONGRATS ONCE AGAIN TO TEAM BALYDOYLE…..!!

Absolutely. A thoroughly outstanding and professional team that punters can rely on. When you have your money on Murtagh you know you’re not going to lack from the saddle.

As for O’Brien his consistancy is remarkable year after year he delivers the goods, even in moderate years he still performs. Lovely bloke as well, deserves all the success he gets.

Yep, well done Johnny Murtagh, Aidan O’Brien and the rest of the team. Honourable mentions for the teamwork Messrs Heffernan and McCabe too. A great team effort all round. Godolphin must be mortified!

Fully echo the sentiments – a fantastic achievement – having a 20% strike rate at one of racings most competitive meetings is no mean feat.

Also Aiden O’Brien is a nice decent, normal, guy as is Johnny Murtagh.

It’s no secret that I am more a jumps than flat man but I have to say this Royal Ascot has been excellent and very, very enjoyable.

My two abiding memories are Yeats winning his third Gold Cup and Patkai’s turn of speed to take the Queens Vase.

While I am not against the senitments of this thread ( :D ) I am finding it increasingly like hard work going through a number of threads that could easily be one. Really highlighted this week…loads of different threads dealing with the same topics.

Nice too see Johnny Murtagh getting a mention though. Many said he couldn’t fill the boots of his predecessor but what a great job he is doing.

Man hardly puts a foot wrong and is a credit to the team.

AOB is a master of his craft. You only have to look at godolphin to see that money alone doesnt necessarily buy success in this game. Congratulations to him for a brilliant ascot, not just in terms of him winning, but in terms of the spectacular horses he has put out for us to watch this week.

And to Johnny Murtagh. Although he has not as yet done anything to put him on a par with fallon, becasue fallon could get horses to win who maybe werent as good on a given day (which IMO murtagh hasnt yet done). If fallon were on Ouija Board and Spencer on Dylan Thomas in the Irish Champion, would we have seen the same result. Unlikely. I do like Johnny Murtagh but to compare him with Fallon doesnt do Fallon any justice.
