Yeah finished outside the top 5 too so gone on 2 trends. Fighting Brave won very nicely at Dundalk and this seems to have been missed because he was still available at 180s for £3 a minute ago.
Fighting Brave 180 £2.57 £460.03
Ref: Bet matched:
190 £1.99 £376.11An extremely strong Guineas contender and I’d expect to see him in the Killavullan next.
October 4, 2009 at 19:05 #251767Yes was a good performance Fighting Brave…..
Encompassing also ran a good race on debut.
There the 2 for me from the 4 2yr old on show from the AOB yard.
Oxxs newcomer was impressive in the CJC race…
October 5, 2009 at 22:10 #251993Just a word for two winners at Windsor today – Citrus Star and Mont Agel. Citrus Star got a tardy start but came from last to first to win very comfortably. Has now shown he can do it both ways and no surprise if he develops into at least Listed class. Mont Agel bolted up and is the second winner from the Yarmouth maiden won by Business As Usual. That winner looked promising at the time and could easily be Group class. Just had a look and he is 129/1 with Betfair for the Guineas – no doubt every fixed odds bookmaker would just quote you the tried and tested 33/1.
October 6, 2009 at 01:56 #252052Fighting Brave entered in a Listed race at Dundalk on Friday.
October 6, 2009 at 04:06 #252065Kingsfort has doubled from about 15 to about 30-32 for the 2000 Guineas over the past few days, since the Godolphin purchase.
Is this a little bit of an over-reaction?
Surely at some stage they’ll get a horse ripe for N’ket again?
The drift was probably helped by Crisford nominating Al Zir when asked for a horse for next year by Clare Balding. But wouldn’t he be far more likely to nominate one he is familiar with, rather than one that has only just been bought?
October 6, 2009 at 05:25 #252068Gerald, I’ve been wondering the exact same thing. It’s utterly pathetic, he’s a bigger price now than he was after winning his maiden ffs. As for backing Al Zir, hold tight. If he wins the RP Trophy, forget him for the Guineas (I’d be surprised if he doesn’t go for the UAE Derby anyway), and if he loses, he’ll be a bigger price for the Guineas. A perfect Lady Of The Desert situation.
October 6, 2009 at 14:02 #252093Amber Grey, Battleoftralfgar,Flying Cross, His Way and September Morn all running tomoro for AOB.
Big day for September Morn
October 6, 2009 at 16:27 #252125Ok can take September Morn off the list since he’s debuting at a non-Group 1 track. I thought about Workforce again last night but it just makes no sense that others for Stoute-Abdulla have been entered in the RP Trophy but not him. He is entered for the Autumn Stakes at Ascot on Saturday though.
Nibani’s entered up for a Lingfield Maiden on Friday too.
October 6, 2009 at 16:43 #252130True Jack….certainly don’t think he is a Group 1 Horse but a very good potential to be a good Group Horse.
5 in a maiden springs desperation to get them out….
October 6, 2009 at 20:29 #252159Does anyone know what price STS was about this time last year for the 2000 guineas and Derby.
Kingsfort along with Steinbeck are my tips for the 2000 guineas.
October 6, 2009 at 21:00 #252161Sea The Stars was around a 10/1 for the Derby
He wasnt quoted really for the 2000 Guineas….probaly around 20/1
October 6, 2009 at 21:06 #252162Was certainly around the 25/1 mark.
October 6, 2009 at 23:11 #252182I’m just about to start work on the Caulfield Guineas.
In the exercise book I opened, the last thing written in it is the Flat Stamina Indices for the past 22 winners of the 1000 Guineas. Although I wrote these out a few weeks ago, I hadn’t actually bothered to look at them yet.

Attraction also has the lowest combined figure, 16.1, for Efisio (7.8) and PoL.
Special Duty’s combined figure is 15.4 . . .
Good job I haven’t had a bet. I had better reread what other people have been writing about her.
October 7, 2009 at 00:25 #252196God, Gerald, you’re a couple of months behind me!
October 7, 2009 at 00:40 #252198Does anyone know what price STS was about this time last year for the 2000 guineas and Derby.
Sea the Stars was 33/1 for the Guineas well into the new year!
He was also about the same for the Derby! He was one of those horses who slipped under the radar before the start of this season!October 7, 2009 at 13:15 #252257Sea the Stars was antepost joint favorite….he was no where near 33/1. The largest price about him after the Beresford was 16/1
October 7, 2009 at 19:46 #252300Ralph Beckett looks to have unleashed another Oaks candidate in the shape of
Ceilidh House
at Nottingham today.
A daughter of Selkirk and another one owned by Mr J H Richmond-Watson (Look Here), she bolted clear in the latter stages of the mile contest and had any amount in hand at the line. You could draw a form line using the second today (Life and Soul) who was thumped by Workforce on his debut, and the future looks just as bright for the filly. There certainly looked to be something special about the performance and 12f will no doubt be the trip next year….I reckon.
