Charlie Hills put up a very positive mention for a two year old filly of his, in the Weekender today
She is called Neshmeya and is a daughter of Lawman by High Heeled. She’s entered at Newbury on friday and also has an entry in the fillies mile.
She might be out this week but it looks as if most of his runners are running like drains so that’s something to consider.
September 14, 2016 at 12:10 #1263389Let’s just hope he does train on as he is a great prospect. Churchill v Caravaggio in the guineas is a terrific thought. Like hawk wing v rock of gibraltar.
I very much doubt they will run both. Aiden has already expressed reservations about Carvaggio getting the trip. Churchill seems like their rock solid hope for the guineas now. They could potentially run Caravaggio in the french guineas if they want to learn about his stamina, and if he doesn’t stay there, drop him back for the Commonwealth cup.
September 14, 2016 at 12:57 #1263396Dabyah is entered at Newbury on Friday and looks set to lock horns with the Godolphin filly Wuheida.
I posted on this thread regarding Wuheida but the computer crashed and I forgot to go back to it after losing the link to the video of the race.
Anyway, Gosden’s daughter of Sepoy made a promising start to her career but the runner up Amabalis has been a bit disappointing since.
Wuheida is a daughter of Dubawi out of Hibaayaeb and I had my eye on her from an early stage. She won on her debut over 7F at Newmarket and the runner up, Spatial, from the Stoute stable won easily next time. The most striking boost to the form came from Poet’s Vanity, who was 4th but went on to floor a hotpot by 10 lengths next time.
This should be a good race on Friday, with Richard Hannon fielding a first time out winner Desert Water in the six runner field.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
September 14, 2016 at 14:18 #1263412Alexios Komnenos won’t run again this season due to a “Setback”
They had intended to take Churchill on again in the National Stakes but now he will miss the Beresford and The Dewhurst, which were possible targets for him.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Would the “setback” be because they don’t want to run him again before they reel in a buyer?
September 15, 2016 at 15:03 #1263593Intelligence Cross didn’t stand his ground in the Mill Reef. This leaves Mokarris as the generally Evens favourite for the race, although some got on earlier at bigger odds.
The original favourite from the Johnston stable also misses the race.
I am assuming this will mean that Intelligence Cross will probably turn up in the Middle Park Stakes the following weekend and that Caravaggio will bypass that one.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
September 15, 2016 at 23:42 #1263669Just noticed that
LAW AND ORDER currently around 5/1 is running at Newbury in the 3.55 tomorrow.
He was my paddock pick when he won at Newmarket LTO and hope he can progress to win again

JacNon Runner..too much rain fallen overnight.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...September 16, 2016 at 18:02 #1263755That was hugely impressive from Dabyah. I think she lay a marker down for the 1000 guineas and the rain probably did you a favour Steve, as Wuheida wouldn’t have beaten that.
September 16, 2016 at 18:12 #1263756Wuheida didn’t run, so Dabyah went off 1/2 Fav today.
Dabyah absolutely dismantled her field, coming home to win by nine lengths.
Still some 33/1 showing on Oddschecker but I doubt you will get that price. She is as low a 12/1
It wasn’t much of a race but it would be hard not to be impressed. The time was more than 4 seconds slower than Aclaim in the earlier race so it looks that they went a sedate pace.
The video is here for anyone who missed it:-
Hosed home!
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
September 16, 2016 at 21:59 #1263794I tried to take the 33/1 with SJ but was only quoted 16/1. If they ran the 1,000 Guineas now I wouldn’t be confident about any of the more exposed fillies beating her so to me the 20/1 still looks reasonable.
Clearly at this stage it is style over substance but at that sort of price it is probably a risk worth taking. If she wins a Group race she could easily go near enough favourite.
The dam has yet to produce anything of note but she is from the family of Warssan, Luso and Needle Gun. Hopefully, that female line will add enough stamina for a stiff mile.
September 16, 2016 at 22:46 #1263801Uncanny similarity to last year’s winner Nathra with Dabyah. Same owner, trainer, jockey, similar ground, both short priced and both wide margin winners.
Hard to know what to make of it, with Hannon’s horse the best looking yardstick on a mark of 80, beaten in last behind a newcomer and a filly with a RPR of 55.
Sporting Bet show that they are offering 25/1 on Dabyah but the ones offering 33/1 still are the less than well established names in the business.
Still, whatever odds Dabyah is now, she has to be a better bet than old sparring partner Amabilis, who has disappointed since they met.
Sitting at 33/1 the Guineas, Amabilis broke her maiden at last, at 4/9 but couldn’t quite get her head in front, dead-heating with a horse rated 79 and providing a losing, winning bet for her backers at half stake 4/9. I can’t see a flood of cash at double carpet for her.
Seems a bit crazy to see a horse sitting 33/1, then winning nine lengths and still being 33/1.
I reckon Wuheida would have had to be smart to top Dabyah today.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
September 17, 2016 at 00:32 #1263825Managed to get Evens for Dubyah today but then Rule 4 kicked in, still very impressive performance thanks for the video Steve
Off to Newmarket tomorrow and hoping to make a winning start in the first race 1.35pm with SOBETSU currently around 7/4. Beaten (3rd) by a very good filly in Spatial who had previously run 2nd to Wuheida at Newmarket.
Sobetsu did not have the clearest of runs that day and since that race the 2nd Hugo Palmer’s Unforgeteable Filly and the 4th Flying North have both won their next races.Just for an each way I’m going to take another chance on John Gosden’s Spirit of India, beaten fav LTO and well thought of by her trainer she was slowly away in the race won by Flying North (4th to Spatial LTO)..
Won’t make a fortune but a WIN on Sobetsu
EW on Spirit of India and a
rev. forecast would start the day of nicely.. JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...September 17, 2016 at 08:54 #1263844Fancy Interweave in that Sobetsu race although there’s not much in it. God Given also has a shot as half sister to Postponed.
