I just had a look at the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes to be run on Sunday.
Looking at my speed figures it is just a 2 horse race betweenPower
the winner (best Speed figure over 6f) and
Frederick Engels
.
As there are not too many horses that achieve speed figures in the90+
category, I cannot see Richard Hannon pinching this race with
Lilbourne Lad
as his best rating is only
75
.

August 7, 2011 at 16:37 #367507What you guys think of Maybe today and also La Collina 2nd behind Maybe came out and beat the colts

August 11, 2011 at 11:24 #367767Born To Sea will debut next month
Any thoughts on the win by Daddy Long Legs as well.
August 14, 2011 at 10:15 #368011Currently absolutely in love with Pimpernel. Really looking forwards to her next season.
August 14, 2011 at 11:03 #368017Top Offer was a very impressive debut winner being quoted of 20/1 for 2000 guineas
Fencing won well yesterday which boost the horse that beat him on debut the Haggas horse.
Astrolgy was a nice winner in Ireland as well
Was not impressed by Harvard NVale
What you guys think of 2yo races in the last week.

Top Offer was 25/1 – not sure if he is now. He was impressive but if you are thinking of backing him you have to consider what he beat, the fact he is owned by someone who has a massive string and Charlton’s record of getting horses to Classics let alone winning and he is not a trainer who traditionally strikes form early in a season. Against that Harbour Watch was 14/1 after he had won three races. Top Offer could get beat next time and he will be a million.
Harvard N Vale looked promising under Baker first time but a difficult ride under Murtagh. The market indicated that the opposition wasn’t that strong and I would suspect Attenborough is better or at least more straightforward.
August 16, 2011 at 12:44 #368264The Acomb tomorrow also some 2yos in the nunthorpe as well i hope Requinto wins that on friday.Any thoughts on 2yos racing at York this week

Richard Hannon has
Crown Dependency
running in the 2.00 York Thursday, this is the 2yo I have been waiting to run again as I think he is a steering job.
I liked John Francome’s paddock statement aboutCrown Dependency
"he’s built like a 4yo old".
So good do I think this 2yo old is, that even if he ran against Frederick Engels on Friday I fancy him to turn him overAs for
Requinto
winning the Nunthorpe I cannot see any of the 2yo’s finishing in the frame, let alone finish in front of
Hoof it
August 19, 2011 at 17:02 #368624Any thoughts on 2yos you seen this week.
Rugged Cross another winner from the maiden that Jungle Beat won by 3LS.Any news on Jungle Beat
Also big 2yo race tomorrow in Ireland David Livingston already got 25/1 to win derby. is in action looks between him and Riveria Poet.
August 20, 2011 at 10:28 #368692Two significant boosts for Harbour Watch. Top Offer now a ludicrous price – it just shows how keen people are to swallow hype. It wouldn’t look quite so bad if Harbour Watch’s form didn’t look so solid.
Athens appeared to make a promising start in a race where experience was a telling factor.
August 20, 2011 at 11:54 #368704Looking forward to see Eastern Sun in the 2:45 at Sandown today. Loved the manner of his debut win and I’ll be backing him to make it 2 out of 2.
August 24, 2011 at 22:31 #369129Any thoughts on Dragon Pulse who big 2yo race in Ireland at weekend
And any news on Jungle Beat as another horse from his maiden won 8.20 at Kempton tonight. And do you guys think he be a miler or derby horse. As i think he be a top class colt
And Questing in my opinion the best 2yo filly Gosden has got is racing at Goodwood this saturday
August 28, 2011 at 12:24 #369369Any thoughts on Maybe she should win then be confirmed as winter fav for 1000 guineas.
Any earl thoughts on National stakes and any horses you see going for race to.
August 29, 2011 at 12:08 #369448Not very much not to like about Maybe although having been impressive on four occasions it is a bit of mystery why she was pushed at Leopardstown. However, it is all very well saying if the Guineas was in a couple of weeks she would be odds on, but we all know it isn’t and that is why Ladbrokes are dangling a not very appetising carrot. She might turn out to be just a very good two-year-old. Had I taken the price I would be concerned that it seems likely that she will run again this season. Assuming she is successful that would mean victory in the Classic being a seventh straight win – I can’t remember a similar profile in recent year years. Perhaps some historians on here could dig something up. On form she is closely matched with Best Terms and although beaten by both Fire Lily could have the scope to improve next year and she is a 33/1 shot. There is also still time for a less exposed filly to stake a claim.
