High Strike rate (75-85% – hopefully).
Short odds. 5%/10% rolling/ratchet bank should make a profit.

May 14, 2004 at 11:59 #53485Hi Rex
Good luck with this – have you done any pre posting stats, would be interested. I am working on an odds on laying system at the moment – difficult to do without watching the live market though – needs a bit more work
May 14, 2004 at 13:13 #53487Paul – yes over the past 4 years these will win about 80% of the time. This is very high but the LSP is low (still positive) because the prices are normally very short. Profit is to be made though, if you have the balls you use a high percentage of a bank perhaps using a ratchet. Two losers on the bounce though hurt. Past success, however is no guarentee of future success ;)
My ownly douby about today’s selection is the jockey – Frankie.

Good start but it didn’t win as easily as most people thought it should have.

May 14, 2004 at 18:23 #53490Hi Rex
Good luck with 2yo system. Should do well in May through to July. A bit worrying that you doubt the ability of L Dettori – he’s one of the best. Don’t just take my word for it, ask anybody in racing.
May 14, 2004 at 19:18 #53493Artemis, thanks for the best wishes for the system.
I like Frankie. He has been a great jockey and still is a very good jockey. My doubts were twofold. First he is not in good form but primarily his record on two year old horses on the races I bet in is way below average. Anyway he won today.:)
May 15, 2004 at 09:19 #53496Thought long and hard about Handsome Lady in the 2:15 Thirsk. However two dangers and not quite a steering job. Therefore, no system selection for Saturday 15 May.

May 15, 2004 at 14:05 #53500Glad I didn’t go with this one. It opened 15/8 and drifted very badly and came nowhere. The trainer tipped it up in the Weekender and McGrath had it as its charity bet but a very moody filly and glad i didn’t back it.
May 16, 2004 at 11:20 #535022:30 Ripon Distinctly Game
Everything looks right for this except the draw (middle not ideal in Ripon sprints)
Only a bet if the horse is the favourite. Therefore if the horse wins or loses and it is not the favourite the result will not count for the system.
At the moment no money is coming for the debutantes.

Well it was firm favourite and was backed from 11/8 to evens, and everything else drifted including the debutant victor Hearthstead Wings who looked pretty good. :(
