Gstaad champion two-year-old colt? Nah, can’t be having that. Got beaten in all three of his Group One races in Europe, for a start.
Difficult to argue against any of the other equine award winners.
November 20, 2025 at 09:33 #1745095A lot of horses look to be breed to peak at two
I’m sure Charles Darwin would have embarked on a similar path to Blackbeard in running and winning many top races
Albert Einstein still the guineas favourite off the back of one decent run and the run of Aidan’s tongue
I wouldn’t be trusting either in a 3 y/o campaignCharles Darwin to conquer the World
November 20, 2025 at 11:17 #1745101Probably an element of recency bias for Gstaad and fans of Ombudsman might argue the same for Calandagan. There wasn’t much in it because nobody really dominated either division unlike Trawlerman and Minnie Hauk. Delacroix you could argue either way for Field Of Gold but again recency and durability tipped it Delacroix’s way. Asfoora was the least worst option in the sprint category
November 20, 2025 at 18:20 #1745110When Asfoora wins best sprinter the European sprinters must be v v slow .
November 30, 2025 at 08:09 #1746205Calandagan has just celebrated his award by winning the Japan Cup, becoming the first horse trained overseas to do so for twenty years.
