    Ok I’ll say it…
It’s just punters coming to their senses. Faugheen should never have been favourite with all those question marks. Worst value favourite of all time

Blimey. Good to see a bold opinion. I have been bold with my Oaks filly for next year on certain threads and will hold my hands up on them if she loses. Hope you will too if BD is beaten. You do sound awfully confident I have to say. Refreshingly confident even.

As for the race, I find it staggering that you think BD could be one of the best ever but that Faugheen was only ‘decent in your prime but not one of the greats’.

You seem extremely confident that Faugheen is not going to be back to his best. Let me just say that on his comeback, he had decent handicappers beaten 4 hurdles out. He never come off the bridle and made the field (including Jezki – albeit an older one) look like class 6 maidens.

Buveur may beat him but if they both turn up for on the day, i expect Faugheen to go off 5/4 and win by 4 lengths. Best 2m hurdler since Istabraq.

Neither faugheen or BVD have any value at there price, there both unbackanle at that price this far out, its likely youll have flip-flopping favs everytime one bolts up (if)

Yea certainly if Faugheen beats BD I’ll hold my hands up and definitely will see Faugheen as one of the greats.
    Just can’t see it happening.
I mean Peak Faugheen beat arctic fire less than 2 lengths and I think everyone on here would put BD ahead of arctic fire. BD is a champion hurdle winner and has almost certainly improved again this year. People say last years champion was weak but possibly not very weak since every horse since has won a race of some description since then.
And it must be highly unlikely we will see a peak Faugheen at the festival this year being 10 and fitness issues etc.

In terms of value Faugheen is no valued at 2/1 and BD was great value at 3/1-7/3 a few weeks ago. But not so much now

I wouldn’t; Arctic Fire is a very good horse. He won the County Hurdle off Top Weight without a prep run. Faugheen sauntered in that day while Arctic Fire was keeping on like a train. It was easy work.

I wouldn’t. Arctic Fire’s Cheltenham form is brilliant and repeat run of that 2nd to Faugheen in 2015 would see him beatin or going very close to BD. AF is 70’s and BD is 3’s. No brainier which one I would rather back.

Corrrrr BD 3/1!!! I wish haha you must have jumped on that if you got 3/1!
All jokes aside yeah arctic fire is clearly a serious horse but even still BD seems different league to me but have to wait for him to show that in March and he can convince the non believers

I don’t think there are any questions around Buveur Dair’s abilities. He is a very good high 160’s hurdler and he has shown that. Faugheen is a mid 170’s hurdlers and on his day is better than what Buveur Dair has shown up until now. All the question marks are over Faugheen. Is he too old? Can he stay injury free? etc..

If they both turn up and they both run a good race and one wins by a head to the other then it will prove both camps right.. If one puts 6 or 7 lengths between himself and the other then the questions about Faugheen retaining his abilities will be answered

Nah I’m not having that Vautour haha. No excuses if BD comes first and F comes 2nd. I’m
Not having you say he oh he hasn’t retained all his abilities. especially if he’s clear of 3rd place.
I’ll have you admit that BD is underrated and is one of the legends if he beats F 6/7 lengths.
BD will be one of the greats I’m convinced of it. And I’m not having it beat F and people put it down to F not being himself. I’ll put it to Bd being a monster and you know what Faugheen lovers. It is possible that one day there will be a horse better than your beloved Faugheen and it could be BD. Not saying he is yet but could be one day and he deserves credit if he becomes a triple champ

You think Arctic Fire is a better horse than Buveur D’Air, Vautour ?

If he beats faugheen that distance i dont think anyone would say he isnt a great

And if faugheen did it i dont think anyone would argue he is either (you might by the sounds of it LOL)

Very hard to know how good Arctic Fire truly is as he keeps getting injured but his last run at Cheltenham was remarkable.

Coming from Buveur D’airs Biggest fan I wasn’t that impressed with today. Seems like some people were. Yes he won easily in the end but didn’t travel as well as last run IMO and proximity of 3rd place wasn’t great either today. Have a feeling hendo didn’t have him 100% today though as they probably thought he wouldn’t need to be to win this. Expecting him to be much better at Cheltenham. If he’s performs like today though I won’t be happy

I thought BD was impressive there, tho the bare form isn’t impressive. Great acceleration when needed, suggesting there was plenty in the tank. Only Faugheen to beat, and Faugheen may not be quite the machine he was two years ago

Was a bit tactical. The New One was allowed to do what he liked up front and quickened 2 out he’s a horse rated in his late 160s yet BD cruised past after the last. And BD connections were smiling after.
    Horses aren’t machines.

Buveur Dair off the bridle before the last jump. Fair enough he passed The New One handy enough but he had to come off the bridle to do it. The New One was a length better than Melon 12 days ago. I would have expected BD to cruise here and he didn’t

I think saying coming of the bridle is a bit harsh on BVD, a few shakes and he bolted clear, melon was all out and beaten a length, if BVD wanted he could have probably beaten him 10-15 lengths without the whip

Hes a top class hurdler, scary the height he puts over his hurdles, spends 0 time in the air

Hopefully faugheen can emulate what BVD did yesterday in the ryanair and we can have a serious race to look forward too in march, faugheen will win if he lines up, but this lad wont be far behind atall ;-)
