Heart-rending about London Prize but well done Ham, Chivers and all the other Elgin supporters.

Like raymo I got paid out on William H Bonney finishing 5th thanks to Paddy Power so it wasn’t a bad race for me but I must admit Elgin’s victory left a sour taste in my mouth as today was the first day in the past year that I hadn’t backed him. I was on at Ascot but just managed to convince myself that he was a better horse right-handed and on a sounder surface – how wrong I was.

Not sure what to make of Jenkins, never seemed to even threaten and Ivanovich Gorbatov really probably shouldn’t have run but it was seasonal debut so at least it blew the cobwebs away.

I must admit watching this race from the betting shop at Fontwell park I was practically counting my money for William H Bonney 2 out, I couldn’t have imaged he’d only finish 5th after traveling so supremely well.

Same here Charles I was just hoping Misterton would stay on to finish second for the forecast and exacta!!
