    Thanks Joe :good:

Yeah, really hopeful for Foxtail, and he really is a decent price. I’ll be interested to see if he’s out at Cheltenham next week. Should be an informative meeting as ever.

Bobby, I’m expecting them out on Wednesday, but not 100% on this.

If he heads here I think 25/1 with Sky is a silly price for Top Notch. His name describes some of his performances last season. He’d have a his share of weight but his class could see him through.
He’s a lot shorter for the Ryanair which indicates what he’s achieved, and obviously there will be far better handicapped horses lining up, but his performance at Cheltenham, where you could argue he was slightly unlucky, tells me his price is too big if he lines up for this.

Forgot the race was a week later this year Bobby, so looks like it must be next Wednesday now for them. Was looking forward to seeing them today as well lol

Well Foxtail Hill hasn’t exactly kept his mark down today but what a run! The performance of the day and a joy to watch.

Yeah, he won it well Grass, though I remain worried how much he’ll go up. I expect Phil Smith will put him up about 4 stone. I can only hope that’s a small exaggeration lol

Very nice comeback over hurdles there from Ballyalton, really happy with that. Definitely one to consider.

Money certainly talks and there’s been a few wedges gabbing about Gold Present this week. I’m already tucked in with 33s and 25s but I’m happy with the support I’ve seen. Nicky was coy when questioned by a certain ‘whippy1mr’ (who?) on Twitter, although I really think he was made for this race. Looks absolutely chucked in as well.

I don’t follow the Jumps much but I felt Politologue might be an improved horse this season. I reckon he could improve a good amount with maturity and become quite a classy chaser this season.

As Bobby says, he’s high enough in the weights, yet he has ample time on his side. 20/1 could be a big price by raceday.

    Politologue 20/1 for me.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

I’m a big fan of Politologue, but I think he wants two miles and I don’t think he gets on with Cheltenham. If the Champion Chase was ran at Aintree I’d be all over him. I know connections think the world of him – STD is in love with him – and I’m sure he’ll be winning some nice races. I think Nicholls has mentioned how he’s more a two miler, so I would be surprised if he turns up.

I’m a big fan of Baron Alco. He has good novice form and finished second in a handicap at the festival. He is still well handicapped and should give his running.

Big big fan of Politologue too, and I did see that quote about him staying to 2 Miles, but the owner loves these types of races, and it would be no shock to see him get an entry. 20’s isn’t the worst price for him I reckon. Hopefully the owner will throw Aux Ptit Soins in there as well.

Degaussed, Baron Alco is almost certainly out for the season unfortunately, which is a real shame, as would have been good to see him build on that Plate run.

Fair point. If he turns up and you got 20s, you’d be laughing.

Damn, that’s gutting about Baron Alco. Hopefully he recovers fully!

Yeah, real shame Degaussed, thought he had something like this in him this season. Didn’t consider him at all for The Plate at The Festival, but he ran a screamer.

I’d love to see my old pal Kylecrue get in here, and the other Irish Raider who really catches the eye is A Toi Phil, who I think is good enough to carry the weight, but it’s two closer to home who I reckon will go here, and I’m happy to chance them one of them just now, even with the race still a couple of weeks away.

Ballyalton – Just taken 25’s on him. That’s too big a price for a horse who’s got course form, having won The Close Brothers at The Festival in 2016, and has shown no ill effects from his lay off, with a solid run over timber at Aintree on Saturday.

Viconte Du Noyer – Another course winner, and he makes plenty of appeal. From a top yard, and though marathon chases looked the order of the day for him, he caught the eye over a shorter trip at Cheltenham on Saturday. That should have brought him on for this, and I’ll be interested to see what price I can get, before considering him.

Foxtail Hill has only been put up 7lb, and I can handle that, so just the one addition just now.

    Foxtail Hill 33’s
    Ballyalton 25’s
    Both EW

Still can’t get away from Gold Present in this. He’s got a lot of improvement in him this season and for me will prove streets ahead of his mark of 142.

Also think my boy Cloudy Dream will run his usual top race and I don’t see the handicapper getting in his way if I’m honest. I’ll make Starchitect my third play as he’s another who looks to have a few lbs up his sleeve, especially against his hurdles mark.

Gold Present as my main bet but will have a touch on all three.
