I won’t be getting involved with the jumpers for a while yet but have had a wee bet on Lord Scoundrel at 16s
July 27, 2016 at 16:52 #1257834I have backed two in the plate CLARCAM and SIZING PLATINUM
Good Luck everyone
July 27, 2016 at 16:54 #1257836I have had a few quid on TTT on Betfair @33’s…looked like a potential superstar for Fenton a few years back and although his well being has to be taken on trust a bit now,he did just about enough last time in a decent hurdles race over an inadequate trip after a big absence to show there was still some ability there.
GL all.
July 28, 2016 at 00:01 #1257903Well done Joe, nice winner for you again, he was very popular on the day, and they clearly fancied him.
July 28, 2016 at 09:40 #1257936Thanks, Bobby. Helped make up for Galileo Gold…I ought to stick to the jumps, I think :)
July 28, 2016 at 09:46 #1257937Well Done Joe
I must say what a fantastic race!!
As they came to the last I didn’t know where to look there was so much going on!! Six in a line jumping the last makes for a VERY exciting finish and even though I was trying to watch the ones I backed in the last furlong or so you could have said Ballycasey was going to hold on then Clarcam was going to win then Mullins unpronounceable was coming from the clouds and the Lord Scoundrel stayed on really well. WHAT A RACE !!!
July 28, 2016 at 11:52 #1257957as you know I have already backed two in the hurdle and have now backed a third TIGRIS RIVER Joseph seems to be doing very well with his training and this looks like JP’s best chance in this.
July 28, 2016 at 13:00 #1257983Best of luck again Raymo, and Tigris River looks a sensible choice, difficult to argue with that.
By the looks of things Princely Conn sneaks in now, so I’ll have a few quid on him each way at the 40’s, to go with my each way on Modem at 33’s
Been a graveyard for me this race in the past, so not particularly confident.
July 28, 2016 at 13:16 #1257990Tough race. The logical but ‘non form’ view would be that Pyromaniac has to be on the list. Can’t think of another case where a trainer went to the High Court to make sure a horse got a run, so I”ve backed him on that alone, though the fact that Tony Martin is going for a hat trick in this race also boosts confidence.
Best value on form, imo, even though Ruby has deserted him, is Bamako Moriviere who’s been really impressive this season. Just got some 24 at Betfair and have left a bet in at SP too.
The real fly in the ointment is the ultra tough and much improved County Hurdle winner Superb Story. What we don’t know is how much more improvement he’s found over the summer. Also, this is his first trip ‘abroad’ and I’m always a wee bit wary, but the market suggests he’s bouncing. Also, going right handed could raise a question. But he loves big fields, the ground won’t matter, trainer is top notch and I’ll probably end up backing him as well.
Good luck all.
July 28, 2016 at 13:45 #1258001Had Bentelimar as a horse to win a decent prize at some point. Took 20’s 5 places e/w that the first time headgear does the trick.
Good luck all
July 28, 2016 at 17:16 #1258061That was bloody obvious. Must be one of the only big races Ruby had never won.
July 28, 2016 at 17:41 #1258063BUGGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fifth and sixth!! At least I get paid on the fifth!!
July 28, 2016 at 19:29 #1258081That was bloody obvious. Must be one of the only big races Ruby had never won.
Aye.
He got off that promising one Bamako Moriviere for which some cash came too
Must be one of the oldest winners of the race?
July 28, 2016 at 19:40 #1258083Hmm, looks like both concerns about Superb Story were not unfounded: Skelton:
We were happy with him, but maybe the travelling took the edge off him,” he said. “The other thing is I’ve never ran him right-handed and he was hanging to his left all the way.”
Still, he might be a price in the next good race he goes for back home
