Djakadam is in the betting for the Irish Hennessey on 8th of February and his price varies wildly from 5/1 to 16/1, however, Willie Mullins said he won’t run between now and Cheltenham because that was probably a hard enough race today.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
January 23, 2015 at 13:01 #502514I was at Gowran yesterday and with such bad fog it was hard to know what was happening at times. I was happy with The Job Is Right’s run, unfortunate about the unseat but I think Djakadam had him cooked anyway. Good performance from the winner and deserves to take his chance in the Gold Cup now. I wouldn’t back him at 16s but he has as good a chance as many in what is an open looking year.
Monksland got nutted on the line by Dedigout but I couldn’t have many complaints as he winged the last and if you swapped the jumps at the final flight Dedigout may have won by daylight. Briar Hill looks a completely different horse to last season. Coral Cup probably his Cheltenham target now, if any.
January 23, 2015 at 14:37 #502530They said on the radio that Briar Hills accident had resulted in a fractured eye socket
and that he was probably emotionally scarred from that; no surprise if he was.
January 25, 2015 at 16:55 #502934Just as a footnote to this race.
I had forgotten that my late mother-in-law, who was a big racing fan, used to refer to the Thyestes Chase as the "Thy Testes Chase"
This used to cause a bit of mirth to the rest of the family of an afternoon.
Thy Testes, who art in Heaven……..
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
