Camelot is a worthy favorite but if I had to back one of O’Brien’s hot favorites for Newmarket it would be Maybe, definitely
April 23, 2012 at 20:01 #401928Camelot may not have beaten much but all he can do is beat them effortlessly, which he did.
The reason Camelot is so short in the betting for the guineas is because of all the well connected stable money, which suggests hes held in some regard.
I cant see him being beaten and he prob is the best 3 year old in training.Deeman
April 23, 2012 at 21:15 #401934I quite like the look of the two french horses if they come over
French Fifteen and Dragon Pulse of the others Parish Hall Most Improved and Power appeal.I think if he comes over Dragon Pulse @ 25’1 best price looks good.

He’s short because the bookies know that an AOB shortie for a classic is the same as the England football team before a major football tourney – mug punters will back them no matter what the price.
April 23, 2012 at 22:32 #401950One cool cat run in the guineas was to bad to be true,if I remember he was tailed off by half way and was found to have a funny heartbeat by the on course vet,As for SNA he ran pretty well all things considered, the thing that put me off him for the guineas was he was a late April foal and and was never going to forward enough for the guineas.
April 24, 2012 at 00:14 #401954probably the worst guineas in living memory.
if camelot doesn’t win this on the snaff then early retirement beckons for him.
April 24, 2012 at 06:12 #401959Not a word out of John Oxx. He has that STS half brother still in.Clever man is our John.

It will have to go some to be worse than the race Island Sands won.
April 24, 2012 at 10:15 #401979true, i’d forgotten about that one
April 24, 2012 at 12:30 #401990Most Improved out of the Guineas and Top Offer on the drift.
Value Is EverythingApril 24, 2012 at 13:13 #401992Music to my ears
April 24, 2012 at 15:42 #402007Careful HGM, understand you’ve laid the horse, but "music to my ears" might sound as though you’re wishing injury on a horse. Not that nice for those on here who’ve backed Most Improved either.
Anyone know why the betfair market is suspended at the moment?
Value Is EverythingApril 24, 2012 at 16:24 #402012I don’t think theres anything wrong with being happy that an ante-post lay won’t make the race, its not like the horse is carrying a serious injury.
April 24, 2012 at 16:32 #402016Suppose it’s the reason why I don’t like laying horses ante-post EGS. Am sure HGM didn’t mean how it sounded.
Value Is EverythingApril 25, 2012 at 16:31 #402121I will most probably have to eat my words after next week.
My Question is just what exactly has Camelot done to be as short as he is for the guineas, he’s beaten 8 horses of which only two have won races Canary Wharf a class 5 event at Wolv’s, Talwar a class 1 at lingfield but what he beat was nothing special!!
As I said in an earlier post I like the look of Dragon Pulse,French Fifteen, Parish Hall and Power who I think has better form in the book than Camelot.
Just wonder if this is another horse AOB is talking up??April 25, 2012 at 16:45 #402126Learn and Fencing have also won races. Learn ran closer to French Fifteen than he had Camelot in his subsequent outing. The Washington Singer that Fencing won is working out quite well although Fencing looks like a colt who needs 10f and his pedigree suggests similar. On a line through Zip Top there is little between Crius and Camelot. Whatever wins the Guineas will need to improve considerably on what they have shown already, but Power and Parish Hall still set the standard on the basis of their Dewhurst efforts.
April 26, 2012 at 00:23 #402167Camalot will drift on the day. Can’t see him shorter than 6/4.
