    Fancied zalan as a 2nd string in what looked overall quite a poor maiden, well bred but from the stall a gap of 5 lengths opened up tailed off, 10 lengths coming into the bend for the straight and he easily needed another 2f IMO, he just did not have a clue! but by god did he finish, a determined ride from Martin lane making up atleast 10 lengths on the winner johnstons 1-2, he was unfancied at 16/1 but if he improves from this run i can see him being quite a nice little horse and maybe one for the handicaps over further!

    Any opinions?
