Hello,
I love Doctor Pritchard,
Dr Philip Pritchard, trainer of Predicament
“He only ran within two lengths of Over The Creek at Cheltenham last time. He has now franked that form at Hereford and so we deserve to take our chance. He’s experienced, loves soft ground, the small field should suit and we’re expecting big things.”and he is 100/1,,,
December 8, 2007 at 17:03 #129593£938 less deductions for finishing fifth of 5, I’d say that’s pretty good placement.
All credit to Dr Pritchard for being willing to have a go. His horses generally jump well enough not to be a nuisance, and on more than one occasion in the recent past have at least guaranteed a decent early pace in Class 1 events.

December 9, 2007 at 09:50 #129679Absolutely, Rob. For several years there was only Dr P’s veteran front-runner Fifth Generation who prevented pretty much ALL Champion Hurdle trials from being run at an unsatisfactorily false pace.
The point of his horses being safe conveyances is almost certainly not lost on him. He’d be on a hiding to nothing doing as he does if Blazing Batman, Predicament et al were likely to put superior rivals out of races through mistakes or falls.
Dr P’s owners must love him to bits – regular prizemoney finishes, and grand days out at the Graded tracks to boot. Long may he prosper.

December 9, 2007 at 10:00 #129681I’m not so sure that old Happy Hussar should be running in the Cross Country races though off his current mark (as he probably will be again on Friday).
December 9, 2007 at 10:25 #129685In the sense that he will be so far out of the weights that for him to run off more than 10st ordinarily his rivals would need to be set in concrete, probably not.
In the sense that he will pop round assuredly enough and be a hindrance to precisely no-one, I see no major issue.
