    Approaching my 8th birthday in 1949 I remember the thrill of my young life spellbound by the radio commentary of the Derby….from then on I was hooked ! Can anyone tell me the radio commentator ? I suspect it may have been Raymond Glendenning or a young Peter O’Sullivan but I just don’t know. Thank you if you can help. :?:

    Not sure, but probably Glenndening, who wasn’t a fan of horse-racing, incidentally.

    Nimbus won the race, in the Derby’s first ever photo finish.
