This is the 150,000 race database I have been compiling for the past two weeks.
You will need Excel 2007 to read the .xlsx file, the file size is approx 12MB.
If you want to work out your own standard times
it might be of some use.Database link:

Now that’s what I call music!
Fantastic piece of work and very generous of you to put this forward for free and you get my vote for TRF poster of the year award.
Thanks

Look at the TinyURL link in my post
I will update it at least once a week
November 4, 2010 at 12:14 #326166That’s very good of you.
Hope you don’t think I am being unappreciative, but if you really wanted to compile standard times you would need to distinguish between straight/round track at certain courses (e.g. Ascot mile) and would have details of weight carried, age of winner and ability of winner, in order to normalise for those factors. It would also be handy if track and race off time were separated out (though that could be done separately after the event).
Good work, nonetheless, and very public-spirited of you.

I have come to the conclusion that topspeed is as accurate as TF tfg’s now. What do you reckon then?
November 4, 2010 at 12:34 #326172Dave Bellingham’s non weight and age corrected speed ratings make a profit to level stakes at BFSP.
Good work, BB.

No idea. I don’t follow either religiously.

I just altered the database to separate the racetimes from the course. I would have ignored the racetimes and just highlighted column B and sorted using A-Z.
On my main database I have the links to every race the info was scraped from, maybe I should include them in a future update?
I might alter the template to add the winners weight?November 4, 2010 at 16:42 #326199Great stuff BB – John Belushi would have been proud of you!

Still work in progressNovember 5, 2010 at 09:46 #326302I’m probably being really dim but when i downloaded and unzipped the file I only got the results from 1994 to 2002, is it because the single db is too big for Excel? Is there anyway I can dl it in sections?
Cheers
STThanks very much for this it is great.

You need Excel 2007 to read more than 65,000 lines as it is a .xlsx file.
There is an online viewer which you might try.
