Seems from my reading of Aidan that he wants every race to be an honest race not like the French races where we wait until the last furlong to race. In a truly run race there will be no opportunity for a horse to hide . In the Juddmont which was a truly run race he beat the best that was thrown at him by Cecil and Fabre. Not a word about that victory after the Champion Stakes when the loser was able to win in his absence. There is no doubt that he is a better horse than Twice Over but we don’t seem willing to admit that. The negative attitude to Aidan and his operation seems to blind some raceing fans.

You can see by the way Rip Van Winkle was raced at a mile (racing prominently) and 1m2f (held up); he was played for stamina at 8 and speed at 10 furlongs.

Let’s not get this out of proportion, Aidan is a brilliant trainer, one of the best we’ve ever seen. He’s just prone to exaggeration when talking about his horses, that’s all. One little "negative" does not mean I can’t appreciate Aidan or Rip’s talent. RVW was indeed of greater ability than Twice Over.
